Omg this is the way I learned in Pv Tky very much now i have the confidence to teach even better, for a while I was confused with all the variations on Pilates Tky much this gives me the confidence to keep teaching and feel assertive. One questions how do you feel about all the new form of Pilates ??
@iditspiro Жыл бұрын
That’s a great question! I think the original work is incredible, but if you’ve seen other stuff on my channel, you’ll see that most of it is not classic pilates. For people who are young and have no injuries I think it’s great, but it’s not suitable for all bodies. I know as a beginning teacher it’s confusing with so many different options; so if your students are fit and healthy its great to challenge them with the original exercises; just make sure you know how to modify if necessary. As your confidence grows, perhaps you can begin to explore other styles of pilates. If you want to check out some of my other classes I would be very interested to hear your thoughts. Hope I answered your question 😀♥️

@iditspiro Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for the lovely feedback. I come from a dance background, but if you look closely you’ll see I’m far from perfect, especially in exercises involving rolling as parts of my spine are much less flexible than others. That led to back problems when I was dancing, which is why I started pilates in the first place. At the beginning I struggled with the original repertoire, but like anything, practice and perseverance made things much better 🙏♥️

Good question! It depends on various things, including what exercise you’re performing, your unique anatomy and what is your aim. Hi, thanks for your question. This class is the original pilates exercises that Joseph Pilates published; as you can see there are various exercises that are similar to exercises you might find in a yoga class. If you could explain what your exercise aims are perhaps I would be able to answer you better

So I think there are lots of options for you to try; most of the videos will give you what you are looking for, so let me ask you what level you are at, and how much time you typically like to do a class,?

Sorry but your technique is not the classical Pilates method. It’s not bad if you want to teach this way, but don’t call it the classical pilates method of contrology. You’re moving way out of the box and not maintaining controlled, precise movements. Also, you’re using momentum rather than moving from the powerhouse.

Thanks for your feedback. As I stated, the original exercises are challenging and humbling; and I know that my technique is far from perfect; I do the best I can with the physical limitations of my body. I am very interested in where you did your training; and if you have any videos to demonstrate what you feel to be the correct technique? thanks
