I love "Bèrches-du-Désert"! The friendliest city in Israel actually has a small-town vibe to it, even though its residents are immigrants and their descendants from all over the World and the place is definitely multilingual. Many North-African Jews were first settled there starting in the Fifties, then Persians, Indians, Russians-speakers from the former USSR that actually represent very diverse groups, and of course, Ethiopians. Beer-Sheva is where much of the (organic-synthetic) chemical industry the Israeli economy lives off is located. In the early morning, there's a distinct smell of Bromine in the air. Most of the heavy and nasty stuff is actually located further West in Ramat-Hovav, a place I've nicknamed NIMBY-Germany... The town's location bang in the middle of the Asia-Africa land bridge pretty much ensures it has a great future, if hopefully, said future turns out to be a peaceful one. Ben-Gurion University is indeed a rather prestigious one, although I remain furious at them for their Med School not accepting First Daughter. She's okay though, HUJ did. Beer-Sheva used to be a military town in pretty much the same way Metz in Northeastern France once was, but Southern Command recently moved its business to modern facilities further South, and large, demilitarized areas around the city have been reclaimed by Nature. Springtime in that 200-250 mm band of yearly precipitations is absolutely fascinating!

Love your videos Salukie! Have you ever been to Har Meggido in Northern Israel? It is where hundreds of millions of Christians think that Armageddon will happen and where the end of the world will begin. It is a HUGE Christian pilgrimage site in Israel that most Jewish people don't even know exists. I'm Jewish like you and therefore I've never been but I really think if you went there and interviewed some of the many many pilgrims there your video would get a TON of views and it would make for an engrossing video especially when seen through your eyes. It may be the most bizarre site in all of Israel....thanks for all of your awesome videos! It is also called Tel Meggido and just Meggido...

Greetings from San Diego, California 🇺🇲 I think Israelis would probably enjoy San Diego. It's like Mediterranean of USA, with similar dry landscape 🔥🌲 Lots of influence from Spain, Italy, and even Tijuana, but with a classic American feel ⛪🚢 P.S. that outdoor flea market looks similar to a California 'Swap Meet' 😂 which get packed with people and vendors here on the weekends 👍

@p.ipebomb
@p.ipebomb 9 ай бұрын
@@EE-mo8wy Interesting. Yes, I was wondering what the Israeli population was like here. I know there are many Chaldean people in El Cajon, and Persians in Rancho Bernardo which makes sense since there is less development and more natural landscape in Eastern, inland San Diego.
