I have really fond memories of the Survivor South Pacific finale. It's been a bit, but it made the season for me. Every challenge in that episode is tense and wonderful, seeing if Ozzy can beast it (plus they're really exciting in different ways). We also see Sophie emerge as a top 10 player of Survivor's 20, both as a challenge threat, the true master of her tribe, and one of the best final tribals. The prior tribals too, watching her break down and be exposed more to the jury and audience. You see a raw edge with her that really lends to why she won, why she deserved victory. It's also the downfall of Rick, Albert and Coach, the later two really feel so brutal, but complete. It's a stellar ending, and my favorite episode of the dark ages (exclusing Philippines)

Coach has never been one of my favorites. I know we saw a flash of it at the beginning of the video, but I would've added the Edgardo boot in Fiji. So much chaos, and then so much strategy, and everything just ended up working.

Obviously as an Aussie, I pretty biased but Id have to campaign for some Au Survivor episodes here HvV episode 7; from the hilarious scene of the Heroes basically begging Gerry not to turn on then at the swap. The incredible tribal council and to the genuinely heated rivalry between George and Simon. Its an amazing episode. Or I could also go with Jam Gate from Au Survivor season 2. Where Luke Jericho and Henry steal all their tribes leftover jam rations, accidentally wind up framing Anneliese and then play extremely aggressively to ensure she actually leaves. Its amazing also a highlight. Or perhaps the Benji boot episode in Au Survivor CvC. Where Benji (a schemer who just can't help but lie about everything). Has finally taken contril of the game...and then we watch as his lies begin to unravel, so he gets desperate and tells even more ridiculous lies (such as telling Brian, who has individual immunity that the outsiders were targetting him tonight)...all building to him getting blindsided with an idol in his pocket in a manner eerily similar to how he blindsided Mat just one episode prior

I always saw it as a precursor to the modern era. You have the first rock draw, the first major flip of power structure, first underdog winner. Gabe being voted out for not wanting to play the game? What is this? The 30s-40s era of Survivor?

Also the absolute DRAMATICS of the tribe swap this season. The Rotu tribe all coming in so happy and loving one another to them being CRUSHED they had to swap. Then Jeff says something like “this was your destiny”. Then, of course, Gabe’s swan song and the rise of Johnny Pots ‘n Pans. Marquesas is such a gem of a season, as much of a hot mess as part of it was (the fucking kite flying challenge), it had some all-time great moments. This episode, the merge, the first power flip, “do you guys want this mint from my mouth”, and the first rock draw. We need Vecepia on Winners at War 2, and we need Gabe on Second Chances 2.

My favourite episodes are probably season 9 the final 7 flip and season 28 the merge vote, both episodes are chaos, flips and power swaps my favourite things in surivor, together with a great cast both times, just lovely. Honorable mentions to final 6 in 43, the jeff k ent vote in phillipines and some episodes in titans v rebels in australia, like the final 5, the final 12 and episode 9 and the frazier vote in survivor australia heroes v villains

Thing one, I ALWAYS thought James and Amanda had chemistry, for some reason. I mean of the romantic variety. I don't know how well that would or could ever play out, though. Thing number two. good top pick. I don't think I'm spoiling anything, not really, by saying, "Whenever Coach isn't on-screen, people should be asking, 'WHERE'S COACH?'." He's my favourite player ever, and when a work colleague who also watches the show asked me "Why him?", I just said, "For the showmanship."

Number one for me and will likely always be the finale of season 1. Kelly completing the immunity run to go to final 2, the tie at the final 4 tribal and Kelly flipping on the re-vote, Richard dropping out of the final immunity challenge realizing his best strategy was to not win, fan favorite Rudy being the last one voted out, the rat/snake speech, each juror approaching that final vote with a different mindset, and the dramatic 4-3 vote with the villain of the season winning. It's the first episode I ever saw and I've been hooked ever since.

Great video! One quick correction: Sarah was trying to persuade the Aparri alliance to vote Tony, not the Solana alliance. The New Aparri tribe consisted of Spencer, Tasha, Jeremiah, Morgan, and Kass (who flipped) along with Sarah, who was the only player who remained on both versions of Aparri.

I couldn't give you a top ten, but I would have to say that my favourite episode ever is the first post-merge episode of South Pacific. Why? Well, firstly, Coach's whole, ahem, "dressing down" of Cochran, "You voted him out knowing he'd come ack, you've got an idol in your pocket," so forth shows he's not an idiot in reality, but it ALSO displays for the first time that Cochran was going to be a star. He played a good game that first run, considering his theoretical odds.

When I originally watched Tocantins I was just so annoyed by Coach's BS and embroiled in rooting for my favorite people that I just couldn't appreciate what he was bringing, but once you aren't caught up in who wins anymore and can look at the show as a character drama Coach is top tier TV. It's why I love Phillip Shepard as well.

It's so crazy to me that Cagayan is considered a good cast. For me it ushered in an era of absolutely awful newbie seasons and made it clear why returnees were so common during that period. I did eventually grow to like Tony and Sarah but they weren't that great in Cagayan and everyone else are some of the worst players ever. Spencer and Kass specifically are both bottom 5-10 all time players for me.
