Opera singer and Holland's Got Talent winner Amira Willighagen, figure skating with her brother Fincent in a Christmas Show of her figure skating club NSV in Triavium, Nijmegen, the Netherlands.

Several years ago Dutch child ballerina Amelie Van de Klashorst added ice dancing to her repertoire of that also included ballroom dancing, jazz dancing and folk dancing. Dance helps singers understand dance rhythms better and improves their ability to sing by also helping them condition themselves. Amira will be glad she is dancing. She and her brother make a good team.

Four years ago she did say she wanted to get an olympic medal when questioned on Holland's got talent. She may yet do so . With her unique soprano voice, charity work, sporting ability and fluent command of three languages, all aged just 13, Amira is arguably the youngest polymath in the world.

Anton Wills-Eve I have followed Amira since she won "Hollands got talent" she certainly can sing. I believe Alma Deutscher though is in a different class of genius though to Amira being a violinist, pianist and above all else a composer to match anyone living or dead.

Anton Wills-Eve I believe her main athletic skill may be gymnastics not figure skating. Unless she is way more skilled as a skater she would not make the Olympic team let alone win a medal.

K Welton I am a big fan of both young ladies. I subscribe.to both KZbin channels and am a member of "Fans of Alma Deutscher" Facebook page. And I understand what you are saying, however in a way it is hard to compare the two. Genius is genius whatever form it may take. Maestro Daniel Barenboim has said of Alma "What can't be learned she already has." Amira's gift is also innate. She taught herself to sing watching opera singers on KZbin and she is receiving some world class coaching. Alma's gift has already become known worldwide and Sir Simon Rattle considers her to be one of the world's greatest living composers and we have not yet seen her full potential. Amira's talent involves vocal expertise and will require a few more years of nurturing for her to reach her full potential. Don't forget that the late Sir Roger Moore called upon both girls to perform at a charity event for UNICEF in Switzerland a few years ago. They performed Alma's "Duet of the Stepsisters" from her opera "Cinderella" at the last moment with only an hour's preperation. Amira stayed over at Alma's house and they moved their mattresses out to Alma's treehouse. They also performed together in another concert in memory of a toddler who had passed away of SIDS (Sudden Infant's Death Syndrome) So Amira isn't doing too bad.

Amira is exceptionally gifted. A voice beyond compare, ability to move the hearts of others, a heart that can only be described as golden, and a spirit that seems to match every one else's in strength. She sure can achieve her dreams to become an olympic athlete if she wants to. She will do well in athletics than any other sports as she has already proven herself an excellent runner.

Dimash is a show pony and plays up to the crowd - and his notes are lazy. He is light years away from the league that Amira, and Vitas is in. If Dimash had half the skill of the likes of Vitas who 'is' actually gifted, Dimash would be carving out his own path, not mimicking the work of someone else. If he is as gifted as he claims to be, then write your own music as Vitas does, and stop copying. He has no respect for Vitas at all, mimicking his hand movements and costumes. Dimash is the person you go to see when you can't afford the real thing, like Vitas. It's called playing to the peanut gallery.

I fully agree with the comments on her ice skating but her remarks 4 years ago were about athletics and her having been the winner of a distance race beating kids older than she is now. I was referring to her all round ability. She and Deutscher are both musical geniuses and very publicly minded, caring philanthropists but to be a polymath you have to have at least 3 outstanding and non-associated fields of ability.Amira has 3 and Alma 2. My comments were purely statistical and not aimed at anything other than the diversity of her talents at her age.

And in the week when we can all see what level of skill is really needed to be a figure skater, perhaps this wasn't the best time to do this. Developing Olympic level skills is the same as developinging singing or any other skills. It takes an inordinate amount of time. Amira spent that time learning to be a great singer. It would be impossible for her to have also become a great figure skater.

Yes , but why can’t she have fun and add to her talent ? I’m sure neither of them wanted to be TOP skaters, they are both accomplished musicians , but people like them are always invited to do charity work , shows or something like that. I applaud them for trying and giving us another glimpse of their lives.
