In actuality, I always thought the Cohen brothers messed up BIG TIME by killing off Moss instead of keeping him alive. They gave him that STUPID-ASS death off-screen and if it were real, and Lewellan were really a real former Army Ranger (which is what I thought he was) he would've absolutely been able to handle himself in any firefight with any would-be assassins.
