The positive aspect of getting rid of headphone jack is that they can put more things into the phone and everything is getting slimmer and more wireless. It´s a step into the future, Motorola did the same thing and nobody complained. But Apple did and everyone is so cringy.. I´m not a Apple fanboy but everyone is overracting because nobody wants to change and yet still have more awesome things. What I want in a smartphone is really, really good battery. Skip the lithium batteries, use new tech wich we have and use better batteries, better camera in smartphone etc. Higher resolution on Iphone screen and much better color even though the colors are great already. push the limits more and make the smartphone even smarter, but ofc this will have a great cost of battery life and therefore better batteries which is not lithium will last better.

It's a pretty solid market strategy though. It only works because consumers are idiots. Since nearly everyone uses headphones, the new proprietary bluetooth headphones are basically the equivalent of a $160 increase on the price of the phone itself. Except the consumer won't see it that way. He'll see that he's buying a $600 phone and a $160 "special" headset. Not what is essentially a $760 phone.

Jobs didn't do shit but told the engineering teams what product they should make and how it should look and work. The team had to fucking figure it out without Jobs fucking help at all. You can't share or manage your OWN files on your OWN device freely (bluetooth works only for pairing other devices, not sharing files), oh but there is Airdrop, which only works with their stuff, so sorry; you can't attach to an email anything stored in your OWN device (it must be stored in iCloud), you can't use regular headphones, you have to accept poor battery life, inferior specs and screen at the expense of "innovation", this is sooo nice... they tell you what to do even when everyone else is worlds ahead, and yep, they still rip you off your money for that.

It’s not the actual Note 7’s of Samsung that are igniting, its only certain batteries that came from a certain (unnamed) manufacturer. If Samsung had not copied Apple and instead kept the option of a removable battery, there would be no need for a Samsung recall. They could just tell users to buy new batteries and the problem would be solved. In other words, the same thing happening to Samsung now could happen to any company that does not allow for removable batteries….including Apple.
