That's usually how it happens. But generally it's a rook that will take you out because of how they move and where they're usually positioned. Incidentally "Iiii always knew I could be queeeennn!" *whack* was the funniest bit for that reason. 😂

You forgot about the pawn promotion rule? You should really solve some chess puzzles on lichess and understand the basics. (Reaching 1000 elo is easy and anyone could do in matter of days,just try to think of the best move that you can play in a position and try to see 2-3 moves ahead and you will get good enough at chess)

When the rook and king castle, the black knight immediately killed the rook. This means the on the previous move, the knight was attacking the king meaning 'checking' the king. The rules of chess state that a king cannot castle if in check or the casting way is being 'seen' by an opponent peice

Hm. I think mine is...the rook. It's easy to see the pathways it's locked down. In play, those pathways feel like walls extending from the rook. And every time I move one, I see those "walls" shifting, too. I love choking off the king with them. Plus, it's a stone tower; I can hide in there with all my fav things. ❤

Powerful piece yet often gets seen by the rest of the board as second to a piece that has no merit to back up its importance. Usually the role I end up being assigned to in workplaces. Called on to do the hard jobs that no one else wants to do but gets little to no credit for it.
