Not only is Marin insanely talented, she is a Goddess. I saw her in The King And I at Lincoln Center which was her last Broadway Show. She is deeply missed.

I have the DVD of her in "Camelot" as Guenivere. She was always enchanting. I'm so glad we still have these videos to remind us of how amazing she was. There will never be another like lovely Marin Mazzie.

Marin sings this song like no one I have heard before. A class act all around. Hope someone starts remastering her live recordings and unpublished work for all her fans out there. We are legion. Just like Nancy Lamott, Marin left us way too early. But left us changed forever. Thank you for being, Marin. God bless.

@@DDumbrille That’s a lousy thing to say for such a graceful performer who is no longer with us. Show some class, man. And btw, how many Broadway shows have you starred in? How many Tony nominations do you have? Zero??! Big surprise!!

@@REDRYDER3001 Well, let's toss those nonsensical questions back to you: How many Tony nominations do you have? How many Broadway shows have you starred in? Is it because she passed away that criticism isn't allowed? Or because she was a nice 'graceful' person? Of course she was. That doesn't mean she sang this particular song well. And actually, since I just watched it again, perhaps 'tepid' wasn't fair. Mannered, yes. But here's the best version IMO: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y53Tq6aEh6-XsNk

@@DDumbrille Ugh. I ought to know better than to try to drum some humanity and kindness into someone crass enough to leave such a nitpicky comment in the first place about a woman who fought a brave battle against Stage 4 ovarian cancer and died @ 57 a little over 3 years ago. And yes, I AM an actor, I HAVE starred on Broadway, etc., (which is why I don't use my real name in places like this) AND I'm a cancer survivor. So you've pissed me off on at least three or four levels! And I don't give a crap what YOU think is the best version of the song... In polite society (which of course no longer exists) you keep your crappy comments to yourself about someone recently departed, the loss of whom many people are still grieving. Look at these other comments --- most are tributes that say RIP. Oh, but there I go again! Trying to drum some human kindness into you. Silly me!!

(Ducking my head first). Eydie Gorme sang beautifully, but for me, her rendition of this song sounds like she's singing to a "lover" not a 10 year old boy. For me, Marin is exquisite, and puts the perfect amount of affectation into the song. She is an actress first, then a singer. Hence why she was so loved by Sondheim.

We had BC at the same time. I opted for a full hysto and removal of ovaries. It aged me, as my doctors said it would. But during the surgery, they found a large tumor on an ovary that was caused by tamoxifen. It's a little known side effect for less than 5% of women. But, it can cause a cancer to grow in the ovaries. I'm older than I should be physically because of the surgeries, but I'm alive. I wish Marin had done the surgery, but it is such a huge step to let go of what's left of your youth at 45. I guess, this way, she'll always be young.
