idk if someone already replied to you but I think people was excited about Lilith bc she is a biblical or fictional character who was the actual "first woman" and she rebeled against god and the purpose that was asignated to her and left, after that Eva was created from the dude rib, sooo Lilith is a sign of resistence and feminism for her empowerment, as Halsey is too haha

PLEASE DO REVIVAL BY SELENA GOMEZ, IT HAS SOME OF THE MOST HEARTBREAKING SONGS EVER
@gabtoledo51443 жыл бұрын
I know this reaction was filmed a long while ago, but in case you still haven't figured out the Lilith thing: Lilith was Adam's first wife, before Eve, and she was created as his equal. Because of that, she refused to be submissive to Adam, and so she was discarded and sent to Hell to become Satan's wife. I don't know if this is EXACTLY how this is story is retailed but this is definitely one of the versions I know to exist. Anyway, this part isn't the most important part. The important thing to know is that, because of her actions, Lilith became a representation of female empowerment, but she can also represent self-destructiveness, corruption, evil, and other things along those lines, because after she became Satan's wife, she became the Mother of Demons, the Mother of Witches, and the female image to everything bad and sinful. The female partner to Evil itself. So, the song talks about Halsey feeling like there is a Lilith inside of her, and she also uses Lilith's imagery to claim that she's deeply and irrevocably wicked, and instead of being ashamed of that and fighting it, she embraces this "monster inside her", as she says in other songs and expands on the rest of the album. The movie also touches a lot on the subject of embracing the darkness inside of you.

that makes so much sense considering when i researched who lilith was and got almost a similar result. the amount of symbolism is so good because its digestible and yet very unique and understandable.

I can see why some people get the "metal" vibes, but it's not exactly that. The album was produced by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross and they are from Nine Inch Nails, so you definitely have the rock vibes, but it's not metal it's industrial rock. The whole album brings Nine Inch Nails vibes and fans of NIN are so hyped about it, right in the first 3 seconds of the first song you can hear the piano and Trent's notes. This album is a masterpiece.

One of the things that I love the most about Halsey like you said is of course her beautiful voice and how good she is story telling, I can imagine so many things while listening to her music. She's my favorite artist along with BTS because both are amazing writing lyrics and expressing themselves and they have literally not a single bad song 🙌🏻💕 I love ICHLIWP so much because it has so many like rock vibes that suit Halsey's voice so much like forget me too (a song collab with Machine gun kelly) it's SO GOOD

YAAAAAAAS!! I'm so happy :) I liked a few songs from Manic but I wasn't a huge fan of the album (I know, I'm the problem here xD but it wasn't my cup of tea). But this album... OMG!!!!! Love it SO MUCH! Still vibing with it. I swear, IICHLIWP and Montero have been on repeat for the last week xD So far my favs albums from 2021 are: Montero, Ashlyn, IICHLIWP, Sour and Happier than ever.

It’s the other way around for me, I loved every song on manic but I only really liked a few (probably like 3-4) on this album when I first listened to it. This album is great but it wasn’t my style but the more I listen to it, the more the songs grow on me. (Especially easier than lying, lighthouse, and honey) Now I like around half of the album: “the tradition”, “lighthouse”, “bells in Santa Fe”, (kind of) “easier than lying”, “girl is a gun”, “I am not a woman, I’m a god”, “ya’aburnee”

Coming at this is from the perspective of a NIne Inch Nails fan that never listened much to Halsey, I can’t really compare it to her previous work. But I can compare it to NIN, and the production really harkens back to their album The Fragile from 1999. Listen to The Day The World Went Away and I think you’ll hear the connection pretty clearly.

Lilith is a Judaic figure (Jewish Bible). She was Adam's first wife and was created out of clay (like Adam), but when it came to sex Lilith refused to submit to Adam, believing that they were created equal and thus she should not have to lay beneath him. Adam disagreed with this and in some versions, he cast her out of Eden while in others Lilith left of her own will to claim her independence. Lilith was found by three angels in a cave bearing demon children, but Lilith refused to come back to the garden. Eve was then created from Adam's rib so that she would remain loyal and submissive to him. Lilith is highly regarded as an icon to feminist culture, for her want for equality, though she was often villainised in Judaic Mythology, and her story was used as means to tell young girls to submit to their husbands. Edit: Another way she may be related to Halsey's message, is that in Judaic Mythology Lilith would steal babies and children as a form of revenge against Eve.

This was definitely an amazing album! My favourites are Lilith, You Asked For This, Darling, Honey and Ya'aburnee which, fun fact when translated from Arabic it roughly means "you bury me" which makes sense sense because in the song she is literally saying "darling you will bury me, before I bury you" Anyway, I have loved your channel for a while now and I think another artist you would enjoy who (in my opinion) is underrated just like Sabrina Carpenter, is Tori Kelly. One of my favourite albums by her is Inspired by True Events which is so good. A little bit about her is that she actually auditioned for American Idol but didn't get very far because Simon called her voice annoying but she didn't give up and decided to just do KZbin covers and now she's signed to a label and is living her dream. Fun fact: she was actually on a show called "The Masked Singer" as The Seahorse! she did great but she sadly didn't win.
