Great video! I returned to running by starting with run/walk intervals a year ago and last April I ran my first half marathon!

Thank you so much. I hear a lot from my clients how they almost feel a sense of running imposter syndrome because they don’t run fast or far and I really want to change that. I always say ‘if you run, you’re a runner no matter what distance or times’ 😊 🙌🏻

Happy I stumbled upon your channel, really enjoying the content. Great tips with a mindful, holistic approach. Bravo! 👏 I started running with the C25K app a few years ago, I made it to 5K and by then I absolutely loved running so I continued to 10K... but a move to another country and a mental health crisis meant I've really gone off the (t)rails. I tried to get back into it a couple times already but it's hard, I hope your videos will help to motivate me and prevent injury. Keep up the good work. Subscribed!

I can totally relate to you regarding mental health Stella. I have struggled throughout my life with anxiety and depression and running is a big part of my mental health toolkit. Well done on trying to come back to it and create a new routine 🙌🏻 if you ever feel like you need extra coaching support I guide runners through my coaching app. My email is ash@runbetterwithash.com if you ever feel you need that extra support. 😊

Great video and tips not just for beginners but us older runners who develop bad habits along the way, although must admit I do like some music and pod casts on longer runs , great video Ash

Thanks Colin. So many runners do like to listen to podcasts and music on long runs. I get it, I’m a musician so I know how good music is in motivating us. Have a great weekend mate 😊

Great video Ash! These are great points I know now, that I wish someone would have told me when i started, so great work! One thing I would say is an important thing for me is to make sure to do your easy runs easy. This is something l learned later in my running and it was game changer. Game changer for recovery, and is the only way to get faster, and that aerobic zone becomes so enjoyable. And 80% of my runs are always easy. Only way to safely build that mileage and build that solid base to get faster.
@RunBetterwithAshАй бұрын
100% agree with you there Brian 🙌🏻 so many runners struggle with this and knowing what their actual easy pace is. Especially as the distances increase. Thank you for your input into this channel as always Brian 🙏😊

Thanks Ash - really useful video. I’m the typical ‘too much too soon’ example. I’m coming from lots of road cycling so my cardio is already good but my body is saying ‘what the hell is this’. Had a couple calf strains so I’m going to re-set and start from scratch with the walk/run. Thank you 👍
@RunBetterwithAshАй бұрын
Well done for having that awareness Stephen 🙌🏻 it takes a lot of effort to not listen to the ego voice telling us to go faster, further and do more!! Glad you enjoyed this 😊

Oh Ash, gutted I pulled calf muscle on my 10k charity run yesterday. I don’t think we did enough warm up beforehand! While listening to the “trainer” I was thinking, We need Ash here! Oh well, going to rest up and do gentle stretches and plan how I’m going to reset for next run when leg is better. Thankyou for your great content as always

Hey Ash, why does my chest and throat burn so much during any cardio and running it’s the reason I dislike running.
@RunBetterwithAshКүн бұрын
Hi Sascha, it sounds like a respiratory issue. I would see you doctor to have it checked out and get a diagnosis of the issue.
