You're not, Michael Edwards. I love that "Well sir" is in the lyrics. It's just so typical of the way otherwise-normal people talk when they're drunk. She does it well. :)

Malvavisco Because there was talk early on of dubbing both Simmons and Brando's voices if they weren't strong enough to be believable.

@@malvavisco10 People dub voices of actors when they feel they're not strong enough or fit the role, even if they are classically trained and have singing experience. Notable ones were Audrey Hepburn in "My Fair Lady" and Natalie Wood in "West Side Story", whose singing were both dubbed by Marni Nixon.

A neighbor up the street asked me to help her daughter with her chemistry homework. I said sure. So after I talked with the girl for ten or fifteen minutes, she was more bored than when I first found her. So I played this. The girl came alive, almost. She remained a little uneasy because she was, after all, at home, and her mother was in the other room. And here, she, the daughter, was sitting near an old guy, me. Her mother, however, wanted to know what on earth I was doing. I said, listen. She did. After that, all went well. The daughter went on to pass the course. She even did well at calculating the solubilities of ordinary ionic salts in water . (Wasn't that last sentence a mouthful? Yeah, chemistry!)

The musical premiered on Broadway at the 46th Street Theatre on November 24, 1950. It was directed by George S. Kaufman, with dances and musical numbers by Michael Kidd, scenic and lighting design by Jo Mielziner, costumes by Alvin Colt, and orchestrations by George Bassman and Ted Royal, with vocal arrangements by Herbert Greene. It starred Robert Alda (Sky), Sam Levene (Nathan), Isabel Bigley (Sarah), and Vivian Blaine (Adelaide). The West End premiere opened at the London Coliseum on May 28, 1953 and ran for 555 performances. The cast starred Vivian Blaine, Sam Levene, Lizbeth Webb and Jerry Wayne. Lizbeth Webb was the only major principal who was British and was chosen to play the part of Sarah Brown by Frank Loesser. One of Broadways greatest 20th century musicals. Thanks for uploading this video.

Brando is the greatest actor because of his unmatched acting range. From 1950-60 he played a paraplegic in THE MEN, Stanley Kowalski in STREETCAR, Mexican revolutionary in VIVA ZAPATA, Mark Anthony in JULIUS CEASAR, a Hell's Angel. Terry Malloy in ON THE WATERFRONT, Napoleon in DESIREE, sang and danced in GUYS AND DOLLS, Japanese man, Sakini, in TEAHOUSE OF THE AUGUST MOON, a contrite nazi in YOUNG LIONS then directed ONE EYED JACKS.
