You do realise konami isn't just a game company. They have one foot in the door for every kind of business and service in Japan like casino's and stores and internet providers or whatever. I don't remember exactly what but even if their gaming side dies. Their overarching company will live on. So if they want to die they can, and it won't affect them. So in the end konami has kind of won in the fact that at this point there's nothing anyone can do to punish the company for this.

The handheld Castlevania games are actually great. But otherwise pretty spot on. Could've gone into even greater lengths about how Konami treats its employees (not just Hideo Kojima) - it's just horrendous. And that's saying something for a field where permanent crunch time is pretty much the norm. Boy, am I glad that I ended up as a developer in a software company. I used to think game development was a dream job. I guess it could still be, if I were to go the indie route. We'll see.

Cards and Pachinko machines in Japan are ensuring that Konami's got a bright future even if it's not making video games. And it's not so unreasonable for them to have removed their stock from the American stock exchange since it was barely any stock and removing it saves them money. I'm not defending them I'm just saying that they don't particularly care about gamers as a children's card game and gambling machines are able to more than make up for that market not supplying them with money.

Thomas Jenkins I was just pointing out some of their reasoning as with most of these the interpretation of Konami is rather extreme even if it is funny and based on actual facts to an extent. I don't really want to defend them but I do understand that video games are a secondary market to them while Pachinko machines and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards ensure large profitablility for them. Also it is the right of gamers bitching on the internet to blame Konami for thinking about their profits first and their customers later.

The latter reboot was a God of War rip off that was terrible and lacked that magic of Castlevania. Konami should just allow some anime peoples to get ahold of Castlevania and make money off of merch sold to weebs by some decent directors... Yu-Gi-Oh is gonna die soon too. Synchros were balanced because you -1 minimum to perform a Synchro Summon, and Xyz's were balanced for the same reason AND the fact that 99% of them lose their effects with no Xyz Material. Pendulum Summoning gives you a free Soul Charge (up to +5) once per turn! What's that? The downside is you need Scales set up first? No problem! Ever heard of a thing called 1-card Scales? (e.g. Pepe MonkeyBoard/Qliphort Scout) And don't even get me started on how all the archetypes introduced in Duelist Advent completely fucked over the concepts of "fair play" and "using skill to maintain card advantage". Honestly, decks these days PLAY THEMSELVES. Yu-Gi-Oh is sadly garbage now. Oh well. People are quitting left and right because of the Pendulum mechanic (myself included), and I haven't watched the anime since 5Ds. You ain't getting any more of my money Konami, lol

well i havent watched yugioh since the first half of gx, but i enjoyed playing the game, until about a year ago. they bann and Limit all good Cards for creative decks (upstart goblin, heavy storm, etc) and release Cards that go +4 in one turn, but only for one archtype (mermail, monarchs etc). also they ruin their Card value constantly, just look at kozmo dark destroyer. dropped from 140€ to 8€. The game is getting way too fast, no real Options anymore cause (as you said) the decks Play themselves, and there isnt really much diversity in the meta anymore. also, i dont know why, but lately almost all creatures cant be targeted and or destroyed by Card effects.. whats up with that? renders almost all old Cards useless

Saleh ALShami you do realize that yugioh is the highest selling card game in IN HUMAN HISTORY, right? Yugioh is so much more than "an anime turned money grabbing card game". Yugioh has its own culture. Yugioh has communities. Yugioh brings people together and creates a medium that allows otherwise isolated people to makes friends. If you think no one cares about yugioh, then clearly you've never been to an anime convention. I went to a convention where two of the voice actors for the English dub of yugioh were guests, and some of the heartwarming stories I heard people telling these two actors were nothing short of astounding. Yugioh changes people's lives. (As have other card games, like magic the gathering, but that's neither here nor there.)
