If you're so anti-handbags then what's holding you back from buying men's jeans. Frankly, I think carrying a bag of any sort is faar more practical than trying to stuff everything into pockets. Don't ya'll remember the jokes made how men would ask their girlfriends to carry their stuff in their purses. Furthermore, no one is forcing you to buy expensive or trendy bags. From backpacks to chain stores like Forever21 that give you the cheapest bags you can buy to literally fleamarkets & some unknown no brand stores by foreigners (like a cheap chinese or indian clothing store) - you have so many accessible options. Having a purse is far more useful & practical than for women to be shaming the bag industry - just look at women with toddler children, diaper bags are godsent and the more room the better - but I guess ya'll are one of the people either wealthy enough to afford a car or someone who barely has any stuff to carry around so you hate on something that doesn't suit you & your tastes but might actually be very useful & important for others. Just because you don't need purses or tight fitting jeans without bulky mess, doesn't mean other don't as well. That's like me complaining that most eyeshadow pallets have crazy, vivid colours when all I use is browns & neutrals. The more I hear women complain about pockets the more I'm just like "why?" - and I say that as a female as well. Because if you're wearing hoodies, blazers, coats & jackets you already get pockets...

@@azeael8429 yes , more or less. Basically most of the material used is completely made in nations like China or Vietnam. After that , they are exported to other places , in this case , Italy where they are assembled. The working conditions in the warehouses are pathetic. I started modifying clothes a while back, because a lot of clothes are impractical, even work clothes! I've added Velcro to stop phones from taking out of my pockets. I've even made some plants from scratch. Once you start making stuff, it gets interesting, and it's not that hard. You just need a little guidance at the beginning. The key is reverse engineer what fits you, built your own pattern, and add whatever your hearts desire. And get a strong sewing machine. Clothing industries, these days create more and more inferior products. At some point you just have to take matters into your own hands and make things happen.

I have looked at my faith from a narcissistic lense too often, desiring a reward for being faithful to God. I forget that faith is the reward. Believing in the Lord is what gives me peace and joy, hope and power. In happy times or times of any trouble, we are comforted by God (2 Corinthians 1: 3-4). Let us rejoice in His holy name!/Prayer+ Holy, holy, holy Lord. God of power and might. Heaven and earth are full of Your glory. The hope I feel for the future with You knows no bounds, my Lord, and I aim to please You with every moment of my life. Forgive me for my transgressions and doubts, but I pray to You with a resolve that I did not feel before. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

There's no need. It has such a huge demand that companies don't need to spend money on that. It's quite sad how we are drawn into this item just by looking at several in any store. I actually opened my eyes getting off the train the other day, and looked at all the women with handbags slung on their shoulders, and every single one of them had lateral spine curvature and one shoulder dropped to balance it. Now, I didn't know this for a long time, until I started working out and studying kinematics and physiology but eccentric loading for extended periods is incredibly bad for you and can lead to all kinds of issues with the spine. Never carry anything on just one shoulder for more than a minute. Your body simply isn't designed for it.

Or will it maybe just make the idiots who hire kids think that its the faulty production fault and take it out on the kids? All I'm saying is, the conditions in those countries suck donkey dick. Working is a way for those kids to make a decent living and buying the fruit of their bloody labour gives them some kind of a living. Trust me, not buying something won't end child labour or improve the local economy one bit.

In reading the history of the handbag, it was an evolving garment that only has been around for less than 2 centuaries, when women were finally free to express themselves and carry their money and belongings, it was a symbol of their independence and woman empowerment, as much as it is now exploited as an unnecessary item for everyday lifestyle, a woman’s purse is her very own intimate world, although the video makes sense in fighting materialism and consumerism, it is also good to know the history of the handbag and not make fun of a woman for wanting to carry the world on her shoulder, given that women are the best multitaskers

Arbitrary feminine things I refuse to get on board with: -Purses. Use a backpack instead. I walk a lot and purses require constant adjustment to stop them slipping off your arm or shoulder. -High heels: I like to walk. I like to keep my balance. Haven't worn high heels in two years. Wear trainers or boots instead. You'll save your health and your feet and ankle bones so much pain in the long run. -Makeup: Can't apply it, can't afford it, too lazy to apply it and remove it. Just keep your face clean and clear if you want to save hassle. I'm a student, and those products are expensive and absolutely and utterly unnecessary. -Keeping up with fashion: I admit I don't care for fashion, it's not necessarily detrimental to your health. It is a waste of money and the system is rigged against you however, not to mention the exploitation of millions of slave children. I am lazy, I wear jeans and t-shirts with a jacket and trainers all year round. I still feel every bit like a woman, and getting dates is no issue if you can make someone laugh and you hold your head high. You are incredible, and no amount of wasted money can ever amount to the appeal of someone who is confidant in their sweatpants and can hold an amazing conversation. Be a woman your way without the wasteful process on things you honestly don't need. Go get it, girl.

@@disappearintothesea Just take note that your opinion is making you blind. It is a fact that certain lifestyles is superior to others. Me, myself dosen't have the perfect lifestyle either, however, that dose not mean that everyone should stop trying to improve their lifestyle (including myself). I am not "imposing my superiority" over anyone, however that is not "what's wrong with the world today". What's wrong with the world today is huge over consumption of resources such as oil which is a direct result of wastefule lifestyles. Over consumption of oil leads to great things (irony) such as extinction, drought, water levels rising and cities being flooded. Don't take this as a personal attack, but we all should try to consume less products. Sadly I know almost everyone who sees this comment will most likely not change their wastefule behaviour. It is just some things I want you to think about next time you buy a product... Can you find enjoyment in something less wastefule? and if you can't, Is it worth the harmful consequences?

Can confirm about the manufacturing labels. Took a tour of a leather factory in Italy a few weeks ago and one of the makers there said that the laws around saying that something was made in Italy are SUPER LOOSE. He told us that the materials for a bag could be sourced in Russia, the bag then designed in Vietnam and entirely constructed in China and then sent to Italy, and if even the smallest of buttons or zippers are sewn onto in Italy then the bag qualifies to have the label say “Made in Italy”

you really can't carry the same bag all the time. it'll wear out faster and you'll have to buy a new one anyway. and aren't messenger bags unisex purses?

Camille Pendragon, no one wears out a Gucci handbag. They use them a few times during a single season, then buy one from the new line. $12 Wal-Mart purses get worn out. I finally threw mine away because it had been on the coat hook by the door so long a spider built an egg sack in it. I prefer to sew deeper pockets into my jeans.

andersoncherub Yeah, I use a couple cheap bags/purses. But damn the Walmart stuff breaks pretty fast. But my mom has an expensive purse and I have an expensive backpack and they look like new even after 3 years of daily use. Cheap purses are great if you dont use purses often.

fuchsiabananastop I buy most of my purses second hand at thrift shops. The trick is to find the closest shops to affluent areas AND ask the store what days new items are stocked. I have 3 authentic coaches purses (the larger ones with 2 straps) that I got for less than $25 each at local thrift shops. I wouldn't say they're in perfect condition when you find them usually, but they're still in great condition for daily use and last much longer than a $20 Walmart bag. I find about 5-10 expensive brands a year (I go once a month usually) on average, so they're pretty common in my area (I live in a large city, though). Still I think it's worth a look if you can't afford a quality made bag.

I also buy huge men’s business suits and love the pockets! Very slouchy and 80’s vibe. Pockets!

failed to mention: its expensive in order to be expensive so most people can't buy it and therefore if you can buy it you are special

I guess with handbags it's the same as with razors. The expensive ones are being made by the same people, in the same factory at the same place. But one has a name and costs 10-20€/$ and the other costs 0.03€/$.

As a senior I shop in the men's active wear department. I like my pockets roomy and the pants go from daytime to bedtime without having to change them. I also hang my pendant purse wallet around my neck. Carries everything I need when shopping. Including an air conditioner/folding fan.
