My cousin had a RX 3. Green with the mirrors way up front. I loved that car. 1977. He picked me up from school with that and I thought it`s the best car out there. Right hand drive. When cars had personality...

Very sanitary job done to that gem! Restored one myself a bit over 20 years ago now. Upon buying it, the original owner wished it'd restored to its original state. Wish was granted, and it hasn't been regretted. So cool to see a nice piece featured! 👍👍

Nice.! I like the 12a to a 13b conversion. Racing Beat is a great shop . I was privileged to drive a '73 RX3, with a (12a.) Stock. I was so impressed in the power. Sadly, it got rear-ended ( real bad.) And that ended that fun project. Had the Racing Beat catalog, in hands and dreaming..... and wanted to get all this cool stuff for it. This rx3 came from Florida, and ended up in Southern California, then..Phoenix., then ended up smashed in front of Turf Paradise (19th ave and Bell) ....crap. Enjoy your rx2. Its very coo! Im jealous.

Is it just me or does it sound like a two stroke? How hard is it to find body / engine parts? The paint color has a real good 70's look to it. Great job on the restoration........

Hi Mike, it does sound like a two stroke, but rotary engines are four stroke engine, what gives it the two stroke-ish sound is the porting, inlet and exhaust porting, rotaries do not have a camshaft, infact there are only 3 moving parts in the engine and the porting are widenened and depending on the geometry and the size of the port extension they have some overlap which causes that two stroke-ish sound. This one is a street port meaning it has a very slight extension with minimal overlap, there are larger ones, big extend porting, bridgeporting and even peripheral porting. The larger the porting the more power you get with reduced lower end and obviously a greater fuel consumption with to many (including me) better sounding exhaust note. I personally love bridgeporting (which can be sized anywhere between a small, medium to large) it's a ''lumpy'' thing to listen too (you can look up vids about how it sounds if you like with such search words like ''bridgeport rotary engine'' etc). I had to run my bridgeport rich and would have flames exiting the exhaust, especially visible at night while! stationary without and foot to the pedal. I hope the rotary bug bites you too. : )))

I love rotary enjins since I was a boy my brother have a Mazda RX 2 and i always clean it for a spin now I am 58 years old and I still love rotary enjins and people who love rotary enjins❤

@@IfThisCarCouldTalkI still remember the MPG on my RX-2. City = 10, highway = 16. I drove it from Montreal to San Salvador. after I graduated from University in Montreal, 4,500 miles, 2 very fun weeks (no speeding tickets and it was still 55 MPH days in USA).
