One of the best things I ever did was make my oldest son lift with me, instead of go to the school weight room , for about a year when he first started lifting. Every workout I told him it's better to do lighter weight with great technique than do heavy weight with horrible technique. Fast forward a few years, whenever he shows me a new lift his h.s. football team is doing, his technique is spot on because he still focuses on that first. Makes me a proud dad.
@carloscontreras44402 жыл бұрын
Not to long ago I tweaked my back by trying to go too heavy and using poor technique, ego lifting. Thanks to you guys I lowered the weight and concentrated on technique and not how much I'm lifting and it has helped me tremendously. I also had shoulder pain from lifting and I saw a video where Adam instructed us to retract our shoulders when bench pressing. I did that and the shoulder pain went away. You guys are a Godsend to all of us. Thanks for all you do.

Man I have been consuming this content like an addict 🙈 I used to train 7 days a week for a mix of strength and endurance. Decided to really prioritize strength training and knock that down to 3 days a week as you guys suggest. Only a few weeks in and having a hard time with the reduced volume, but still obeying orders. Would love that RGB bundle to continue training like this and hopefully getting some big results! Thanks for the continuous content!

“People readily trade intensity for technique” such a true statement! I didn’t realize the value of actually getting great form & technique until I actually did get injured and went to a PT. He started helping me realize I wasn’t deadlifting or squatting very well. Your guys content plus a few hard knocks life lessons really has helped me so much. Can’t wait to be able to buy one of your programs been watching for a while now!

As usual, you guys are spot on. The weight on the bar really should be the last thing you consider. Mind-muscle connection, warming up, mobilizing stiff joints, and being really in tune with what you're feeling are all more important.

First I want to note that you have an amazing team behind the scenes. Second, You all have had a huge impact on my life in just 3 months. Within a year I’ve gone from 1300 cal/day with a coach to going off on my own, breaking my toe due to overtraining, not working out for months and wanted to give up. Found you all and within the last 4 months have been able to reverse diet up to 2000 cal/day and feeling wonderful after every workout and in general. Thank you so much. I just gifted a bundle to my parents who are in their 50s, and I’m so eager to see their quality of life improve🥹👏🏽

have been binging this content for the last couple months and I'm learning so much. i'm currently an undergraduate health and exercise science major and beginning physical therapy school for my doctorate in july. some of the stuff you guys talk about is so applicable to the field of PT but not enough people understand these concepts! appreciate you guys talking about things from all angles and perspectives including different skill levels and even from a nutritional standpoint. no other podcast out there makes this content as appealing and as digestible as you so thank you so much for that!!! excited to implement some of this info into my clinical practices one day (and of course in my own strength training)!

@2776-m8w2 жыл бұрын
I’m turning 50 this year. I’ve been working out since I was 12 years old. My philosophy had always been “go hard” in all of my workouts. That always left me sore, over doing my workouts, and injuring myself. I changed that philosophy in February 2021. I’m all about “practice”, form, nutrition, recovery, and sleep. I’m down 70+ lbs (currently 200 lbs), and I’m at my high school football weight.

@zachmiller99552 жыл бұрын
I used to do the same thing when I first starting training. For example, I wanted to squat heavy ass weight so I would load the bar and try and force the weight up. Once I dropped the weight and focused solely on form the weight on the bar started increasing progressively and my legs started growing so much more.

First, been watching/listening to you guys for a couple months and just love everything you have to say. Form>intensity is my mindset big time! Second, do you guys have any podcasts about chronic pain/illness and lifting? I’ve been lifting for over 10 years, but ended up getting in a car accident 2018 and am now being diagnosed with some chronic illnesses that make the pain never really go away. I’m still training and especially focusing on form 5 days a week, but I want to figure out the best way to stay fit, keep muscle mass (which is helping my body!), without aggravating my illnesses. Any videos on this would be so appreciated! I haven’t found any in my digging through them yet. Thank you for all you do!

Thank you so much for answering my question about butt shooting up on the deadlift! I am reducing the weight to practice keeping my butt down until the bar moves off the floor.

Got to say I started to use off days (recovery days) as practice form days. Having done Anabolic and now on Aesthetics, I'll do my focus sessions on the off days but also practice foundational movements. And I'll break it up differently on each day. I'll put a little weight on the bar to practice Deadlifts (varying from sumo to regular), squats, overhead press. I have found this to be a key for me. I used to be a collegiate swimmer so our coach always had us do form drills. I using that same concept.

I am 37 and have been lifting for about 6 months. Very inactive for a long time before that. I am having problems with the squat. My strength has improved, but I still lean forward too much, my heals come off the ground, and my lower back ends up hurting sometimes. However, I don't have anyone to watch and teach me better. How can I correct this before I develop a bunch of strength in the wrong areas and hurt myself?

We had a similar experience as Justin. My parents brought to Australia when they moved from South Africa, some South African pieces that looked like faces carved out of wood, but they looked a bit evil and would scare children, so they took them down haha. Also, I agree that butts without defined hamstrings is one of the worst things ever! So surprised Adam didn't know about Elon buying shares in Twitter. Like what Justin said, he's probably not going to just stop here. I think he'll do something to make some real changes.
