Yes, and most of the time, having kids helps you to grow up. The only reason it doesn't seem to do that anymore is because we now seem to believe that you can have a successful family while also insisting on putting yourself first. When in reality, often the best thing you can do for yourself as a person is to think less of yourself and more about others
@keegster7167 Жыл бұрын
@@mrburns91 can’t you serve others in a way other than having children though? Can’t you sacrifice for a number of different meaningful purposes? And sometimes doesn’t that make it exceedingly difficult or impossible to have children along with those aims? For example, if you have to travel a lot? And also, it seems a bit wrong to use kids as a part of one’s own personal experiment in testing one’s own maturity. I do believe that most people should have children though and that it benefits the human race even for somewhat immature people to have them, but there seems to be more pragmatic arguments for this than strictly moral ones
@howiefelterup329 Жыл бұрын
@@keegster7167your talking about a small fraction of people. Most people do not travel alot. Most people have jobs and not careers, most people dont have the opportunity to live meaningful lives in the way that you are describing. Thats less than 2% of the population. For the rest of the world, having children is more meaningful than anything you can do. Its certainly more meaningful than traveling and chasing a hedonistic selfish lifestyle.
@mrburns91 Жыл бұрын
It's not about testing ones own maturity, but if you wait around till you're perfect enough to have kids you'll never have kids, its okay to make mistakes, it's okay to not be 100% mature or the world's most adjusted parent. In the history of parenting no one has ever done it exactly right. Most of the families out there that really screw up children are not the ones that aren't perfect they're the ones that accepted children as a consequence of having sex rather than understanding that it is a part of it's purpose, it used to be, and still in many cultures, it is seen as the evidence of a couple who love eachother rather than in North America where its seen as a result of improper planning. But if the intention is there, even if you aren't perfect, it'll be good. And it doesn't matter how much you help others, the sacrificial unconditional love of being a parent is not something that can be replaced.

Too many people misunderstanding JP's point... if you know JP's messages, he's all about finding purpose in your life and deriving meaning in that process. What he's criticizing here is the casual postmodern attitude of thinking "reality is constructed, anything goes is fine" sort of immature mentality that fails to take into account of how incredibly complex human motivational systems are on biological level, where reproductive and nurturing instincts are intertwined into the brain in ways we're not even close to grasping. As he often repeats, people do not exactly understand what they want; it's something you discover by pursuing your purpose with discipline. What he's really saying here is that you shouldn't just naively assume not having children is an equal playing field as having children, ceteris paribus. Not having a children and having a purposeful life CAN be done, but you better know what is it that can replace that.

To take risks, when you have children it's more difficult to move around and move up in a career, build a business and also to put myself in risky situations to play out possible scenarios that family members may want to try or experience. Having children makes it difficult to take financial risks to see what works and what does not as if I make all the mistakes under the sun I can help my siblings who I have an 8 year age gap between myself and my eldest younger sibling and help teach them things our alcoholic father did not. It also gave me time to prepare myself for the inevitable damage to my younger siblings to start to kick in their adult hood. I was aware even back then the cycle they may start going into and the non-financial related risks involved entering relationships as I was aware the toxic issues would likely occur to me as people from broken households are more likely to enter those relationships. I had 2 1 was healthy but had poor timing and another was as predicted. When a sibling was in a similar situation half a decade later I knew what steps to take to support them. From the accumulated knowledge and experience of putting myself in trail by fire so to speak, I can have and have been able to help my siblings in ways I could never been able to do so if I had kids. Also by extension be prepared to help out nieces and nephews if for whatever situation where the shared trauma that was caused by abuse in the family where to screw them over I would be in the posiion to take over and look after them by being childhood free too where I would have to take less financial risk, but eh easy sacrifice. Also I can support my mum financially as well, so my younger siblings do not have to and can get a better start with me. So yeah, I have had to take the role of an adult father to my adult siblings, but I am fine with that, I knew the long-term consequences of the abuse and prepared as necessary. @@niceguy1774 If I had kids none of this would have been possible, as all my investment and rightly so would be that. Excuse me, sir. I'll like to argue otherwise. Les say, even if you are the most pathetic person on the world. What bearing children does to you is that it puts on you an adventure to sacrifice the said rotten state of being... Think of it as a chance of redemption, and what happens when rejecting this chance is that, you forever are stuck in the same pitiful state of being... And this opportunity or any other for the said matter allows for you the two possible outcomes: Failure and Success... And YOU WILL HAVE TO CONTEND with these possiblities one way and the another, as long as you live in the world... WE HAVE TO TEACH PEOPLE HOW TO CONTEND WITH THE POSSIBILITIES OF FAILURE AND SUCCESS, and have them keep in mind the failure and teach them how to attain success I know there will be failures, many failures... Those are the nuances. But the day we start teaching people not to contend with adventure because it can bring about a failure, is the day the world will be doomed... The cost the world will have to pay cannot even compare to the way it is. Like please, take a moment and think about this, I'm saying this the most pleadingly... Look at the world around you, where there is not failure and success? Like uk, the idea you are trying to put around here is that "You are too pathetic to go on this adventure, You'll fail do not do this". When the required thing would be to encourage this telling "I know it'll be hard, it'll test u as a human being. But do not worry, if u let go of ur selfishness and pride, I know u can do this"

It's the exact opposite. People who want kids go through with it without thinking it through and are under the illusion it will fulfill them, or worse, fix their broken relationships. They don't think through what they are getting themselves, and the kids, into. Then they regret it, but the kids are also affected through no fault of their own. The mature thing is to be realistic and consider whether you are cut out for parenthood, and what parenthood would mean for your life. And if you find you don't have the inclination, don't have the kids.

Luckily the genes of the Feminist women who don't want to have children due to the anti-child, anti-motherhood propaganda of the Feminist media, will die out in this generation. So the Females of the next generation will be the descendants of those women who have common sense, and they will inherit it from their mothers. And the world will be a much better place within one generation's time without the Feminist idiots.
