I'll take an LS Chevy over any Ford. Torque from velocity. Go back to the 351 and 400m's. Hell the production 351 Windsors were 2 bolt mains. Ford has never made a good V8. A simple 6 bolt main V8 chevy will out last a quad cam or duel cam Ford by years. Chevy;s have better head design and fewer parts. Tranny's are a piss into the wind. I prefer NV4500's but as power increases above 7oo it becomes an issue. Just a 5.3 Chevy with a mild cam will get you 500 hp. A 4 cam Ford needs to work with twice as many parts. Keep it simple keep it long.

Seems to me that you can get a rebuilt battery for it for $1K installed, and could probably find one at a scrapyard too if you had to. Even if you had to replace the rebuilt battery every 18 months it would be well worth it, as little as there is that goes wrong with them.

0:46 Scotty in The Netherlands you can buy a new hybrid battery for €1800 (including labor). I feel like you just dont like hybrid vehicles. The Toyota Prius is a very well made car and the batteries rarely need changing. And if you change a battery it will be good for at least 8-10 years. There are ones that have a million kms on the orininal battery.

Fiat bought Chrysler so its down hill from there,We use to call my brothers Dodge truck old goat. When it snowed we would pull people out of ditches I would put on chains and load my 1957 ford F250 with packed snow and drive 30 minutes to my brothers since i knew his battery would be dead from not starting in cold or wet weather. My son purchased a new dodge truck and finally after 3 failed attempts to stop water from leaking into oil dodge took it back. I am sure his mistake was taking it to different dealers but it kept breaking down at different places. the first dealer said they would install another engine it it broke down again but the other dealer tried to install a head gasket and the last one stop leak in the radiator to no avail.

My 03 Caravan (I am original owner) has 194k and still runs great, I drive it every day. I did have to replace the transmission at 82k. And some other stupid stuff that probably wouldn’t need maintenance on a Sienna. But I can’t complain too much, it’s still running, starts right up, drives smooth. The fact is there are a lot of older Chrysler/Dodge minivans still out there on the road, see them all the time. That does say something.

Other then that they all have the same issues all 3 of them. Odometer gages especially gas gages work intermittently or not at all. Windows always coming off track. Seats seem to rip early on all of them. All 3 of these vehicle the ignition cylander went on them. Ac never worked on any of them except the tahoes worked for the first week I had it. I do love how they drive and how long the engine and trans will just keep going

My dad liked Ford and Chevy in the 60's too but moved towards Toyota and Honda in the late 70's. He now mentions Toyota and Honda as the two current most reliable manufacturers, though not a fan of the latest models as best era for Toyota and Honda was mid to late 80's until 2006. I also agree with this view as well.

I just sold my 2004 Honda Civic that had 206,000 miles on it. Same thing, no issues beyond normal maintenance. If you can get 15+ years and over 200,000k out of domestic cars without major maintenance you've pulled a miracle. That is a regular thing for Japanese cars.
