If you missed one thing, I'd offer that it's to check the torque on all those bolts you marked before you mark them. I would like to think most dealers do a solid PDI, but we all know some don't. This applies to any tractor manufacturer.

I would say check the torque prior to doing the paint pen marking.

On your TYM Hank your bolt heads are likely metric. I would really expect them to be metric on most every brand of tractor for the last 15-20 years.

I think that list is pretty good, and covers most of what I’ve done with new tractors too. I put chain hooks on the bucket right off. Found some that are made off set to fit the TYM buckets and they’re awesome. One other thing people might think about is putting a bit of dye in their hydraulic fluid. Sure helps it show better on the dip stick. I’ve got it in my little Deere. I’m not adding it to my new TYM until I change fluid out on my 50 hr. Be time for it before I know it.

Man, I can't believe I forgot about the dye! Good call! I do that too.

Morning Hank. I never really got why someone would put liquid in the front tires. It is not going to hurt the axle because it is unsprung weight, plus whatever you have in bucket or grapple is added weight anyway. Anyway, a little maintenance occasionally never hurts. Nope, I do not check my oil every time I use the tractor. If it needs oil daily, it has a problem. Keep videos coming.

I think the hinge point on your front axle is the most important grease point. It is the most costly to repair. Good video for new tractor owners.

I prefer torque stripe to paint pens for monitoring bolts but that's only because I grew up flying helicopters and EVERYTHING on those birds gets torque stripe. More easily removed than paint when retorquing. Great advice on bolt sizes, capacities, etc on filters and capacities. Merry Christmas and God bless you and yours.

I have started cleaning around axle seals at end of cutting season. I cut grass at deer lease, the seeds and little small stuff can get in and around them which can cause small leaks. I found spraying brake cleaner around them cleans well and stops small leaks. I do everything else you mentioned in video

Luckily, I was already using Milwaukee tools before I got my TYM T474C so my grease gun and Lucas Red n' Tacky are all color coded to match my tractor. .... color matching adds 5 horse power.

@@LeroySanchez-j3j with what little greasing I have to do on my tractor loader, I cannot justify buying a $200.00 plus battery grease gun. I just use my old pistol type hand grease gun and moly grease on loader and the couple other fittings. BUT, I do use a lock n lube end on hose.

I am jealous.....nothing but sunshine in the Sunshine State. I live in BC, Canada, and right now we have about 18" of snow on the ground, and i'ts only December. But hey, I always look forward to snow as it gives me a reason to fire up my backhoe. The old girl needs to be plugged in for 3 hours, and the battery needs charging usually for about 6 hours just to crank over. It will drop to -24F during winter, and up to 115F during Summer. Mind you we don't have to worry about hurricanes, but wildfire is our biggest concern. Different worlds I guess, cheers from Canada ;)

Every Saturday I go over my tractor's and make sure everything is torqued to the book spec. Every other day I Greece the tractors. I painted my hydrokinetic lines so I can hook up. Each tractor had a notebook that I wrote what service I did and The dat. I use nitrogen instead of air in the tires so temps don't Make the tires fluctuate in air pressure . For loading the tires I get used fryer oil for free.

Another comment (good for the analytics anyway) is that your first "tractor purchase" should definitely be an electric grease gun and a couple of cases of grease - and a bunch of heavy duty paper shop towels, white lithium grease, tool bag for some basic maintenance tools, etc etc. Get those first before you start adding a bunch of different attachments and implements. If you don't maintain the tractor then all the implements in the world are useless when your tractor breaks from neglect - and vice-versa.

Where do you find the torque specs for a TYM?

@@hhamilton1970 Korean Tractor gets German torque specs, Gudentight.
@hiddenacresoutdoorsАй бұрын
Actually the torque specs are basically stamped on the face of the bolt, but it's in "bolt grade" code. There should be a bolt spec sheet in pretty much every manual. If you're missing yours then any bolt torque spec sheet will do. It's based on the grade of the bolt which is always marked on the bolt head but in some weird code. That's where the bolt grade marking sheets come in handy. Same grade bolt on a JD or LS or Kubota or TYM all get the same torque.
