I just purchased a Triton 22 MR, put a tjm bar on front and full under neath protection, i have noticed adding the 100kgs its a bit stiffer at front over bumps, dropped 15mm but have had this car in all types of terrains so far, i would consider just beefing up the suspension for ride quality but do not need anything over 25mm as it clears most things now , i want to keep all the running gear as close to factory standards....

After getting my Triton serviced. My mechanic warned me in replacing the rear rubber brake lines. At full droop, you could play a note on the brake lines. My lift was only 30mm. So if you lift your Triton, pay attention to brakes lines, ABS cables and locker cables too. You do need to modify them. No problems in the front lift, although my top swing arm is paper thickness at full droop with the shockers.
@jaspreetbains27763 жыл бұрын
Will give you better approach and departure angles plus fitting the bullbar , winch and lights you may need an upgrade in the front to keep it all level. Large tyres need more power to spin them and they require bigger braking effort so not always an advantage. my np 300 has 255 65 17 stock in a Highway terrain. Ive fitted 265/70/17 mt light truck construction. gives an extra inch of lift . works well in the rocky stuff and mud but was rubbish everywhere else. If i did it again i would go a 265/65/17 all terrain. when stock suspension is flogged out ill get a 40mm lift and good shocks. I have bash plates which help slide over things that may get caught up .

My MR has a canopy 85 kg, drawers 85kg, tow bar 35 kg and a fridge. On the front I have a bullbar also about 85 kg. When it's packed to go away it weighs in at 2,550 kg. It drives fine and sits well on the road. The only problem is when I drive on dirt roads with lots of undulations, it bounces a lot. It seems that the rear shockies are unable control the bounce and when I look underneath, the leaf springs sit fairly flat. It's a fair bit under its GVM so I find the bouncing a little disappointing.

I've got a 2021 GLS Triton. I found the stock suspension absolutely awful. The ute feels nervous over bumps and then got totally worse when installing ARB bullbar, side steps and brush bars. Got a 4x4 shop to do it for me. I couldn't get a kit cheap enough. Went online and unbelievably the 4x4 shop was cheaper to buy and get them to install. But please do get your brake lines extended, at full droop they will be tighter than a guitar string. Also get a small bracket made to fit on the diff to give extra length to wheel sensor and diff locker wires. Got my brake lines made by a local brake shop and 100mm longer than standard.

@jakelong7976 EFS was only a 30mm lift, no upper control arms needed. If you go 50mm, yes, you need them. Don't forget to lengthen rear brake hoses. 100mm longer than standard. At full droop, you can play a note on them. You'll eventually destroy them.

I’ve got 265/70R16 on my stock MQ. Gives a little bit extra height and definitely rides better. Plus with this size your Speedo reads exact so be careful. As most cars read 5kmh higher than actual speed. The 265’s make it spot on accurate.

I’ve got 265/75R16’s on my MR which is 31.6” diameter. It looks pretty good-much better than the 29.4” factory tyres. No scrubbing at all, even when putting it through it’s paces off road. Would prefer a slightly wider and taller tyre (285/70R17-32.7”), but it means a wider rim, and it’s probably going to scrub without a lift or at least cutting the guards

Stock suspension has a team of engineers, backed up by a lot of type tests, signing off on fitness for purpose without unintended side-consequences, and thus you have warranty. This includes design for rough roads. As a design engineer i find it hilarious that people have this blind trust that some small team of aftermarket designers is going to give them an improvement over what the oem designers provided. Maybe an improvement in one specific criterion, sure, but is there a hidden compromise in related areas? They don't know. They don't have access to the design limits of other parts of the vehicle. And they don't care, as they aren't responsible to provide warranty of reliability or safety of the whole vehicle after the mods. They are just paid to design a product that will sell. The responsibility for fitness-for-purpose and roadworthiness of the vehicle after the mods falls on the owner. The owner is taking a lot on their shoulders at that point, maybe losing backup from oem warranty and also losing insurance, depending on the mod.
