Hey mate, If I recall correctly they're threaded into the diff. I recon I used a spanner (possibly a 10mm) and it worked well.
@Jayden-mj2kf2 күн бұрын
I managed to sort it. Aparantly the new models, (mine is 2023) have changed and there is no thread (this was also news to the local ARB workshop). Have to lift the o ring seal and pry it out. Hope this helps someone.

You get what you pay for - purchasing an MR GSR soon, with the savings upgrading it to the max including new spring and shocks to make the ride more comfortable, custom dyno tune, tyres, brakes, exhaust, catch can, intercooler hoses and of course as you mentioned the lights!!!!!! etc - made a whole list. If anything goes wrong you've got the warranty. Can't beat it. Ranger - good, shit motor, hilux - boring. Triton - cheaper, super reliable, everything you need, nothing you dont........ winner!
@jlobo5529Ай бұрын
This Is a very good, and intelligent assessment of the MR. As an engineer, and licensed MM I agree to 100% what was said here. Spend your money on things that really make a difference, like good quality shocks and tyres.

Hi I bet I never could do this with my standard 4x2 Triton (2024)? But what adjustments would prevent me from getting stucked, I'm thinking about tires, adding a winch (as a kind of insurance if ever get stucked in the middle of nowhere). Conditions here in Philippines can be flooding, mud, mountains;; still have to discover but want to be prepared...h my

Good afternoon in aus and I’m looking at a MR triton . Most co worker say they’ll shit on the bonnet and laugh at me ! But to me wow perform better in specs and weight , look very good ( specially with a bullbar) and look like a proper down to earth truck. So keen on looking at one soon !
@mrtriton54052 ай бұрын
@Southern21076 they're bloody great! Unfortunately older less reliable models gave the Triton a bad wrap but every car brand has occasional lemons. The MR is excellent

My MR power steering hood got hit hard, took in dirt and water and sh+t itself. Mitsubishi saying my fault, me saying, not fit for purpose. I lost of course. No warranty.

If you install the mesh grill some things that will make it look better. Identify which areas of the white frame in the engine bay are visible and paint them black, there is not much so pretty easy. Get some 6mm x 3mm, black aluminium mesh of ebay, mould and fit it to the rear of the new grill, you can attach it with small black cable ties that are barely visible. The mesh is big enough to allow air flow but will stop bugs and stones. Get a Mitsubishi emblem of ebay and mount that to the grill. I cut a peice of thin aluminium to the shape of the emblem, put a couple of holes in the ally, threaded a couple of cable ties through and attached the ally and cable ties to the emblem with double sided tape, then attached to the grill. It will end up looking better than the factory grill.

Looks like a bullfrog. Haha. Why not put them on the roofrack? I've been puzzling with this idea. Some reckon the reflection off the bonnet is too much. Any ideas?? Cheers mate
@mrtriton54053 ай бұрын
@fanielategan5547 haha that'd be full redneck! A mate of mine has a light bar on the roof and it causes mega glare off the bonnet.

Hilarious! I'm so glad you're not leaving them on. Illegal or not they looked so dumb 😂. Edit: the lights themselves look cool, just dumb in that position

You got a good high beam light pattern and reach. My high beam doesn't reach that far so I just replace the stock bulb with LED projector bulb just so it can shine farther.

Just go a light bar bro, look sleeker and these days you get plenty enough distance from them with plenty of spread

Ummm. The mounting location is illegal. Maybe not around town but get out on a highway and the highway patrol cops will be all over you. It would better to locate them under the bar.

I think that could be illegal In some states. Try a super powerful light bar across grille. You won't need spotties.
@akilislam28343 ай бұрын
yeah in qld it is illegal on the top of the bar. though the light bar above the bull bar hoop tends not to be enforced... I would recommend 7" altiqs I'm happy with em plus amber covers are great for fog and rain

Hey mate. Great video, very informative. I was looking at this bar for my triton however I’m concerned by the lack of airflow the bar allows through the front. Did this come to mind when you were looking at bars? Have you had any temp issues? Cheers.

Stock suspension has a team of engineers, backed up by a lot of type tests, signing off on fitness for purpose without unintended side-consequences, and thus you have warranty. This includes design for rough roads. As a design engineer i find it hilarious that people have this blind trust that some small team of aftermarket designers is going to give them an improvement over what the oem designers provided. Maybe an improvement in one specific criterion, sure, but is there a hidden compromise in related areas? They don't know. They don't have access to the design limits of other parts of the vehicle. And they don't care, as they aren't responsible to provide warranty of reliability or safety of the whole vehicle after the mods. They are just paid to design a product that will sell. The responsibility for fitness-for-purpose and roadworthiness of the vehicle after the mods falls on the owner. The owner is taking a lot on their shoulders at that point, maybe losing backup from oem warranty and also losing insurance, depending on the mod.

Mate thats not sludge, its normal oil vapour, if you ever saw sludge or cleaned a manifold on a real gunked up MN you would know what im saying. Focus on less salt water crossings far better off, you would get that oily smear on a new car after a few hundred kms. You really need to know what your talking about to keep your audience, please stop calling it sludge

Smart bar all the way. Designed and built in Adelaide, and can hit an animal and spring back into shape afterwards. And the only option that meets the ADR requirements for pedestrian safety. And you save a bunch of weight, which reduces tyre wear, avoids the need for spring upgrades, and reduces the loss of payload from adding this accessory
