I believe an aggressive takedown usually isn't counted as a slam. Otherwise any well-executed uchi mata, hip toss, or shoulder throw could count as a slam. I've only seen slams called in tournaments when an opponent who's already in the bottom position gets picked up off the mat and slammed back down (happened to me once).
@chrisdudedurian13059 ай бұрын
@@creativewritingcorner nah it's cos he picked him up and held him for 2 seconds then threw him down while landing with him with all his weight constituting a slam. A rough takedown I'm pretty sure is like a full movement no suspended animation

Who are you talking to? What imaginary koolaid bjj guys are making the argument that concrete wouldn’t change things? (If there’s concrete there’s punches kicks and likely no gi that might change things no? I mean roger fought mma for years) you sound kinda desperate to prove judo works to everyone. Relax, I’ll tell you a secret. Bjj is literally judo newaza rebranded. That’s why Bjj has every throw judo does even most of the banned ones lol. They also have leg attacks and wrestling. which judo just banned. Modern sport judo sucks Old school judo rocked.. we are already seeing “bjj” gyms combining every single grappling art without a gi. Most top guys can now wrestle, footsweep, use leg locks etc That’s what the modern adcc ruleset pushed, because it pushes takedowns and sumbmision. Sambo leg style leglocks found there own way in as they were very reliable without a gi

Bjj folks have on such a coolaid. He took him and threw down clean. On concrete that's over. Although judo doesn't allow that throw anymore, it used to be an ippon/win before. Sure Roger was better on ground but to allow a takedown like that, means he's clueless on stand up
