I’ve heard great things about the Sephora lip stains. Are you wearing Marvelous Mauve by any chance? My favorite liquid lipstick at the moment is Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink. It stays on through so much! I love how comfortable and affordable it is. I’ve heard that the L’Oréal infallible pro matte liquid lipsticks are a similar favorite formula so I’m looking forward to trying those.

This video made me so emotional. My senior year, when no one asked me to prom, I asked this same question. I was in the band room with one of my closest friends. Talking about others in relationships. Talking about my horrible experience at prom. It came to the point where I was crying until my mascara ran down my neck. I aggressively asked my friend what was wrong with me. I held on to my faith all four years and felt almost abandoned by God because I felt like I was not worthy of love. Satan was definitely using this lie to destroy my spirit. This lie led to so much self hatred, so much trying to reach the standard of perfect so I could reach the love that I wanted so bad. I thank God every day for reaching me out from this lie, and having AMAZING friends and INSPIRING women like Emily to really speak this truth.

Realizing that it is often God's will that you're single is a hard truth, but such a freeing one! Constantly worrying about singleness doesn't make you less single, but focusing on developing yourself and figuring out who you are makes you more fulfilled and prepares you for an eventual partner, should that be God's will. You are so amazing!! I’m SO grateful God created you and that you’re so confident and strong and bold in speaking love into us. I really really think Christianity (Protestantism more than Catholicism) combined with sexism pressures women into thinking we *need* a relationship to be fully ourselves. Every girl’s class and girls retreat at my church growing up we had to talk about our “future husbands.” It really seemed odd at the time how ONLY the girl’s class was focused on future marriage, but looking back at makes me sort of angry. We are SO much more than who we may marry. I LOVE that in Catholicism being single and chaste and just living for God is REALLY heavily promoted. ALSO that’s sooo cool your baby can hear!! Being pregnant sounds so fun, I’m SOO happy for you!!

YAY! Thank you so much Emily for bring this to light. As a 43 single never married. I deep down have this question, even though I 100% adore my singleness. The interesting thing is I also know that at this point in my life I should not be dating at all. There are issues that have been going on for years in my life and with the Lord's help he is working to help me over these issues. One thing I am now learning is how to forgive myself. And how to love myself more. And say yes I am worthy Jesus, since I've always been made by others to be ashamed for who I am and for sticking up for myself. When my friend was talking about this, I told her that attracting a great guy is not the goal, but rather, the byproduct of creating a great life for yourself. Yes, do change...not who you inherently are, but "change" as a means of growth. Put yourself out there more, smile more, get to know more people without intent. Do the things that makes your heart full and at peace with yourself. In turn, you are more likely to attract the right guy, especially since your life isn't consumed by wanting to be in a relationship for the sake of being in one.

Thank you for everything you’ve ever shared with us. For sharing your heart so that girls like me have the strength and courage to speak up for my beliefs and values. I just had a full on conversation with a man who kept ensuring me that waiting till marriage will only cause me regret and stress. That is was “tying me down” and blinding me. Thank you so much. This video made me realize how many things I`ve been doing recently in order to "fit in the mold". For example (i know this issue may sound trivial, but somehow it`s not for me) I`ve always wanted to go to prom in suit. I just love how it looks on me and wearing a suit makes me feel like myself and gives me vibes of a such a powerful and beautiful and confident woman I aspire to be. But recently I thought "oh but I won`t be considered attractive, and if I have a date he probably will prefer me in dress etc ". Last week, we had this prom-like dance presentation thing with my classmates in highschool. Every guy made 6 necklaces and after the performance, they were supposed to give it to 6 different girls who they thought were the best dancers, prettiest, or to the girls they liked best and the girl with the biggest number of necklaces won an award. In the end, I got 2 necklaces. Then we were asked to stand in a line and the dance teacher said: "All girls with 3 or more necklaces take one step forward." I looked around and every single girl in the room took a step, except me. It was sooo humiliating, especially with our parents and teachers looking at us. In that moment, I asked the very same question. But as the night went on, God showed me how my worth is not found in my appearance or popularity but in Him alone. I had "Crowns" by Hillsong playing in my head for the rest of the night!

Thanks so much Emily! I really needed to hear this. I'm only 19 and in college but I've always felt something was wrong with me. I never interested guys in high school or in college. I have a lot of health issues and had to miss my senior year. Your videos have always inspired me to be a better woman and Christian. This one really struck home with me though. I did have a best friend for 6 years, who happened to be a guy, but left me because he said me, my family, and my health was too much drama for him. I think I have a lot of trust issues from that and also from my health. I have a service dog who is still in training, and I'm really happy with my life. I'm trying to hand it over to God and just trying to become the woman God wants me to be so maybe someday I will be ready for a man in my life. This thought has eaten at my soul for yearsssss…… I never attracted attention throughout middle school, high school, or even during my four years at college!!! Never had a prom date, never been on any kind of date for that matter. It has just never happened for me and I feel that I've missed out on all of the normal experiences of growing up, which does in fact make you think that others must inherently have something that I was born without. It is challenging not to believe this lie when all of the evidence of your life points to it being the truth.

I'm having a hard time with this given I'm 33 and long for marriage and a family and it doesn't seem to be happening any time soon. I've never dated out of loneliness (though I feel pretty lonely) and always been "the good girl" but I'm at this point in my life where I don't know how to be ok with the idea of staying single if marriage doesn't happen for me. Even at this age, I don't receive much male attention and it makes me wonder what am I doing wrong. I'm also healing from betrayal trauma so it makes it even harder because I feel so broken and ruined that I feel no good man would go for that. To make it worse, only middle age guys contact me on CM. It's so frustrating and disheartening to know your clock is ticking to have babies and having that longing that remains unfulfilled. Sometimes I wish I didn't feel this longing at all because it hurts so much.

Tanya Ortiz you look so very beautiful in your profile. Are you putting yourself out there meeting new people ie have hobbies that gets you to engage with more people? Pour out your heart to God in prayer. Im fasting for my future husband 1x a week and this seems to give me hope hec i dont know if it'll work but at least im trying and giving it to God and its v consoling to me sometimes. I don't know- get to see the freedom you have now while you wait for married life. Utilise this freedom of singlehood like eg. do anything you want with your time without needing to tell or consider anyone, travelling, spending time with yourself and enjoying this deeply- nothing is permanent- esp that you're planning to be married. And heyyy you get to dance with as many the hec guys you want at dance socials or whatnots. Go on dates just for pure fun and nothing else for now :) Only God knows what God knows. For me unlike my early 20s Im DEFINITELY not sitting down 'waiting' for anyone- it hurts too much otherwise and i feel rather bitter/insulted for making a choice to wait ie for marriage- which i still am. If you choose to put yourself out there esp just for fun you'll be surprised how much guys will actually like you even if they're not always who you're looking out for :) enough of my essay. I don't know, you're in your 30s- I'll be mad as well...fast, pray and see right? What have u got to lose :)

That's also another barrier I have: there are many things I wish I could do like dance lessons or hikes and stuff but my knees and feet are poop right now (had stop practicing kendo because of that) so I feel at a loss in finding new social circles to mingle in. Wish I could say I'd go on dates for the sake of it but guys don't ask me out lol. I'm trying to figure out what can I do to meet more people but I'm frustrated at the moment. It happens to me the other way around. If I give attention to a guy that ends up not being as kind and Godly as my heart needs, I just feel horrible, like I don't let my self go through the process of finding the right guy in peace. I feel like I haven't find him cause I'm doing something wrong and I keep getting attention from the wrong guys. Instead of letting God's timing be my timing, and living in peace with what I have achieved in life.

I once heard about the misconception of "finding your soulmate". We don't need a soulmate, there is no such thing. We complete ourselves as individuals, we don't need anyone else to make our life "whole". Of course, a partner can help us a lot to be our own soulmate and best friend, but none of us depends on another person.
