both are bone chilling, but in different ways. The first one is horrible but you still have hope for life, hope that you can escape. The second one is,as the person above me described, "profound". It’s not that old, and it’s for a reason. I study meteorology and the communication of warning information. That siren sound was designed in the 1930s just after WWI to be the sound that would alert the most people at a time, mechanically. The digital voice sound was originally devised in the 1980s for NOAA Weather Radio for automated updates and weather reports, so meteorologists didn’t have to be doing it 24/7 while transmitting. Every once in a great while, a live person will still go on-air with the weather radio. The last time it was done, was on May 20th, 2013 by the Warning Coordination Meteorologist at the National Weather Service office in Norman, OK to warn people of the extreme severe weather headed toward Moore, OK. An hour later, an EF-5 tornado raked through the town, and he is credited to have saved hundreds of lives.

Sadly, nobody ever remembers the 3rd guy on Apollo 11. Michael Collins. He had to stay in orbit and make the coffee while Niel and Buzz were making history. However, I suppose IF the "worst" happened and Nixon had to deliver his speech, Collins could have returned home alone. What a horrible thing to endure.

I learned that the hard way. A few months ago, I was really interested in his video on creepy things. I tried to close my eyes to sleep, but the smile.jpeg kept on coming up in my head. Like as soon as my vision went black, the image appeared. About five minutes later, I went to the bathroom and used my phone's torch so that I could see my way down the stairs, but I was trying to keep from waking my mom, as she is a pretty light sleeper. For ten to fifteen minutes straight, I could hear the sound of the singing androids in my head and it scared the hell out of me. Also, for some reason, I kept on turning my phone's torch function on and off relatively frequently with only a few seconds in between switching and the sudden appearing and then sudden lack of light scared me, and so did my turning on of the nightlight in the bathroom. I knew nothing and no one else was in the house except for myself, my older brother and my mom, but it still scared the hell out of me. So, yeah. As awesome as his videos are, don't watch them at nighttime, regardless of when you go to bed. It'll set in, trust me.

Vsauce My girlfriend and I fell asleep on the couch with one of your playlists on. We woke up to the warning that a nuke was 15 mins from hitting the US. Suddenly, as we were staring at the screen in disbelief, your face came on with the excitedly shouted, "IF". Well played, sir. P.S. You owe me a new pair of underwear.

+Forrest Caudill Oh my god poor guys, I really feel sorry for you it would have shocked me to death. The warning did creep me out and I'm not even living in the US.

6:08 - One day my sister was sleeping at my place. She had vsauce videos playing on auto-play and got woken up by this warning. She legitimately thought we were under nuclear attack. She said she was so scared she couldn't even move. "Then the vsauce guy showed up" lmao

Somewhere, sometime, someone will be watching this video when real sirens go off for a nuclear bomb, and they won't believe it.

Idk man, aside and even despite his baldness (very well could be an unfortunate genetic thing that can start occuring as soon as early 20's, I am unsure tho) he looks very young in the face, and energetic in his voice, and I easily see him here as somewhere between 30 - 45 honestly

I am amazed at the fact that Micheal, in 13 minutes of video, which I watched in its entirety, doesn't mention a single time to subscribe to his channel. He provides the relevant soruces (the carpe diem is outdated by the way) and he is extremely clear in his explanation. This is quality content. This is the best youtuber I found and the only one I eagerly follow. Thanks Micheal for your inspiring content.
