There is a memory leak in the game so having View FPS on is good, because when you see your fps tanking game over game, it's letting you know the memory leak is getting worse, just restart your game

i'll be honest, doing this lowered my performance from around 90-110 to 70-90 in the practice range. Not sure why, maybe the settings i had before were better. edit: figured it out, it was the sharpening in Nvidia. I turned that setting off and now the game runs somewhere inbetween 90-130. Weirdly a bit more unstable than before but it does go higher. Think I'll drag my max fps down a bit too, I'm never gonna gonna reach 240 anyway outside of victory splash screens.

All of your advices are really helpful. Id like to add that frame generation might be helpful for majority of the playerbase like me( who’ll probably go as high as gold or platinum maybe). Frame generation might be adding input lag but it isn’t noticeable to me personally. what i do notice is my fps hovering between a jarring 90-105 without it to full 144 with it and its just more smoother experience to me.

in a different video, it's proven that the frame generation number is fake. IE, all it does it take your True FPS and double it. Look on youtube for "Marvel Rivals - FPS Affects Damage & Movement? - I Tested It To Find The Truth" and he proves that Frame Generation is not true FPS gains.

with using your tips, i managed to go from around 80fps to around 120. while this is an upgrade, i feel like something is off as i can run overwatch on my setup at over 300 fps comfortably. I have an intel i5 10400f, rtx 2060 6gb vram model and 16 gb of ddr4 ram. With the engine.ini configs we were able to do before, i was able to push up to 160 fps, my cpu doesnt seem to bottleneck either as i used afterburner to check my performance. Any ideas how to further optimise?

you actually can edit the config files in marvel rivals, it isn't a bannable offense. the anticheat may flag your account for heavier scrutinization, but you will not get randomly banned. that statement was about people who were using actual mods to get custom character models and stuff.

the game is a poorly optimized unreal engine mess as expected. the whole ai upscaler frame gen stuff increases input lag and increase the amount of visual artefacts. Yes it helps with fps, but mostly because it is an unoptimized mess. It would have been better to fix the inherent issues with the unreal engine 5 than relying band aid fixes, to hide its flaws that made it into the game.
