IFS Nondual Meditation 41 - Porosity

This week we inquire into our porosity. We note the places within where we resist, where we brace against life's currents. We sense the armour that blocks spontaneous flow. Together we allow all that enters like in Rumi's guest house, becoming flexible like the tender reed, bending with the wind. We open to luminosity and translucency, flowing like a river, ever-moving, ever-free, surrendering to the dance of existence.
The Self in this meditation refers to the Self in IFS, which is a non-pathologizing therapeutic modality that aligns well with non-dual teachings. Similar to quantum physics where light can be both wave and particle, IFS proposes that the Self can be both wave and particle. This Self is the same Self that Ramana Maharshi points to, the Christ Consciousness that ACIM speaks of, the Buddha-nature (particle Self) or the no-self 'anatta' in Buddhism (wave Self).

Ego-identity is a driving force behind the intense emotions that can lead to conflicts, both within ourselves and between nations. A strong sense of national identity or the preference to relate more with people we perceive as similar are examples of an ego-centered identity which is perpetuating a ‘us-vs.-them’ mentality. We see the effects of such thought patterns currently playing out in specific regions on earth in the form of hot war. To end these wars we all are responsible to wake up to the universal nature of our beings.
