Honestly, much is missed also with split screen. Sure they could use split screen for live stream, but then make two separate videos with men/women and I would watch them sequentially (or 1 longer video or whatever)

@NickRoman8 жыл бұрын
He deserved it for not knowing how good his hold was. That's part of being a good climber. And yes, after hearing this commentator giving out that warning like every time someone does that this year, I'm desensitized to it. Not that the climbers heard it, but it feels like if you don't know by this time, there's no help for you.

Don't complain.The service doesn't cost you anything to view, and they clearly had internet issues outside of their control during the comp. I'm more than happy to wait a day or so to get a solid and unbroken stream to watch.

couldn't agree more. Thankyou IFSC keep doing what you are doing! Love the coverage :)
@jojonnyjones8 жыл бұрын
Actually, the live videos were up quite quickly - but as they are a direct copy of the failed stream, they had the same issues with audio and video as the stream itself. They took them down to uploaded them as soon as possible WITHOUT ERRORS. Thanks IFSC! Next time, get a stable internet connection though :-P

I loved most of the coverage, but the drone footage was slightly overdone. It is fine in between climbers, but very irritating when we are looking at the roof whilst people are climbing.

what was the problem with miho und f1? haven't seen a fault?
@w00tklumpWn8 жыл бұрын
I think it was perfectly fine too. The ref probably hasn't seen that she slammed her left foot on the bottom of the footstart. She wasn't stable but she touched it. I don't get why the ref points to the hand starts. Was it the direction where her hands were pointing?
@brainscrub79768 жыл бұрын
It looked to me like her right hand left the starting hold just a split second before her second foot touched the foothold, so she didn't have both hands and both feet in place at the same time. It was really close, though.
@jrblackify7 жыл бұрын
I don't get it either. At 51:56 he stands up noticing a fault, but if you watch her closely she gets both hands on the two starting ticks and both feet on as well.... before the clock runs to 0:00. Weird...

THANK YOU for enabling comments. Boring boulders, barely a single move that *looked* awesome, despite the difficulty. Route setters seem to have had a bad night. Commentator did nothing to create excitement and explain what was happening, so what is his job? Obviously Rustam isn't judged as critically as a professional commentator. We need a way of watching both climbers simultaneously, I am so sick of missing the important bits of half the problems. What was wrong with the split screen that IFSC used a few years back? Finally, we need more close up shots of the holds, especially as they're being grasped. It's hard to get a feel for the problems when you're 10 metres away from them. Can no one in the IFSC afford a couple of Go Pros?? Congratulations to the climbers.

Whats the ruling when a judge calls you off the wall for an incorrect start, but you disagree with their decision? Can you continue to the top and then have that top removed after a video referee decision? Or do you come down, then protest and hope to get another go at it at some point?
@technikerboulderbundesliga8 жыл бұрын
0:51:50 I guess you refer to that. There are seperate cameras recording every single problem. An appeal concerning the judgement of a competitor's attempt has to be made before the start of the following competitor. The official video recording would be one piece of evidence. However, Miho decided to not complain about the decission of the judge.
@Octane_au8 жыл бұрын
Cool thanks. I've seen comps in the past where a climber protested and got another attempt once everyone else had finished that problem, and their initial (falsely judged incorrect) attempt was wiped. so I wasn't sure.
@veittotti68168 жыл бұрын
but what was wrong with the start?
@technikerboulderbundesliga8 жыл бұрын
Probably Miho didn't put all limbs to the taped holds at the same time. Even on x0.25 speed it is hard to tell whether the starting position was correct or not. There are 2 judges on that problem who might have had a better view.
@NickRoman8 жыл бұрын
It had to be when her left foot only slightly touched the hold and they wanted her to have her foot placed on top in the scoop there. Is that in the rules? It's not enough to have her foot touching it? Cause otherwise, they were wrong (and maybe were still wrong anyway). It looked good to me.

Can someone explain to this newbie what 'flashing' means and what bonuses do and where you get them from? Or what do these numbers and letters mean right of the scoreboard?
@frrosch8 жыл бұрын
Flashing means topping the boulder in the first try. The score works as follows: "2t3" means "topped two problems in 3 tries". Just the same, "2b3" would mean "reached the bonus hold on 2 problems in 3 tries". Climbers are then ranked on most tops, then least number of tries to get them, then most bonus holds reached and finally least tries used to reach these bonus holds. That should also explain what bonus holds are for.
