Anyone that dislikes these videos strike me as probably people like me in their sixties, who think it’s their god given right to like and dance to Northern Soul music, and nobody else should do it. If that’s the case, then be ashamed. This fabulously talented young lady, with a smile that lights up a stadium is opening up the genre to a whole new audience, and performing to some songs most of us have never heard of. Sh*t…….I’ve just found this young lady. I’m 64, and back in the day. northern Soul was my LIFE!. I was introduced to it (as a Londoner) when I went on my first leave from the Army with a mate from Wigan. I loved it from then and danced in every country I ever visited playing music over a “ghetto blaster” or through my Walkman when they came out! This girl brings back so many memories: The music, the clothes, the sheer joy of it. Keep the faith!

My dad worked in the clubs in Bolton, Blackburn and Bury during the early 70s. I remember him describing Northern Soul music and the dancing, like it was something he hadn't felt in the nightclubs of the southeast where he normally based.
