She wasn't awful, but she continues to hurt herself with all the double faults. 8 in this match, 10 against Gauff in the semis, 27 in her three Australian Open matches. Makes it very difficult to hold. But serving better would have only prolonged the inevitable. You're not going to win a match if you can't even get yourself a break point on your opponent's serve. Very impressive match by Swiatek.

To be honest, Bencic was in form in first 2 service games. But in her third she broke herself making incredible 4 double faults. Later she just couldn`t regain her confidence. And, of course, Iga had a killer first serve, so there was simply no opportunity for Bencic to get a break point...

Iga belongs to the same generation as Osaka. Very athletic, really nice on and off court (no dramas), down to earth, intelligent, and their first titles and trophies are nothing less than Grand Slams or masters xD. I really like this "next-gen" in women's tennis.

Iga and Naomi are the future. Iga reminds me of a female nadal, massive topspin for a woman and a great cross court backhand like her idol. Osaka reminds me of djokovic conceptually. She hugs the baseline close and plays high tempo aggressive returning tennis

@szs voc not necessarily, if the topspin is anything to go by Swiatek is much better of the two, ability to change direction with the wrist flick on her forehead site is rather seen on ATP than woman's game, Osaka is more experience with maybe a bit more powerful serve, that's all

@szs voc they played in 2019 in Toronto I believe. Iga was 60% player she is now. They played superb and even match even if Osaka won. This year I think advantage Iga in Paris and Wimbledon and i'd give even chances in NY. We"ll see. This is a women tennis though. They can be very good or gone soon as well.

Yes. There is no one right now in the WTA that moves like her at her height. Like I said before, she's incredibly agile and is the female version of either a Monfils or Djokovic. Her ablility to change direction is stunning, lightning quick. As an Andreescu fan, I thought she had almost everything. Iga adds another dimension with her movement and defensive skills. It's going to be very difficult for many average and even some power hitters to get anything past Iga.

Iga reminds me of a young rafael nadal. Once she improves her serve watch out. Her forehand lands short sometimes (because of her topspin) but she can flatten it out more and only improve. Her backhand is already better than nadal's was at her age. the sky is the limit for her. Well done.

Iga's great to watch she has a feisty attitude and play's to the crowd using gestures and jumps etc - in the French Open Quarter Final it was funny she held her hand to her ear pretending she can't hear the crowd cheering to get them to cheer louder after she won the match. Technique is good too uses plenty of top spin and notice she frequently slides into shots instead of running thru them - sliding with open stance helps swing harder and gets you get back ready faster. Sure to win many more titles.

I didn’t think Iga would continue to be this good this fast but she is proving me wrong. We will have to see what happens in the next few months, but she could well be the 2nd best female tennis player after Naomi.
