That is the illusion of show business. You could almost dress up anybody and put him on stage and he would become somebody important. Or the same with acting. I mean, we are all acting to a certain degree. My favourite Brie Larson says she was painfully shy as a kid and is introverted and private still but she never had trouble acting on stage. That sounds weird at first but it makes totally sense. I could be better at acting than at real random awkward social interaction. Human interaction isn't scripted but performance is. You become part of something bigger by performing well, when off stage you have trouble connecting to people. We have to seperate the performning artist/actor from the public persona from the private persona. So it's like a matrjoshka doll. Which is very hard for the human brain. It can even be impossible if you only know certain videos of a person or if you have only seen an actor play a bad guy without ever seeing him off screen. It's a mindflip.

different accents have different rhythms which isn't great for singing because there's only so many song rhythms you can do, so a lot of singers drop an accent(either consciously or unconsciously) in order to fit the style, plus music styles are often heavily influenced by the region they're from, like rap sounds really weird with certain accents, or Scottish folk music usually sounds weird if someone American or English sings it, and pop is heavily influenced by America so understandably pop singing can sound more American because it was written in a more American style

Thando Ndlovu ignore literally everyone in the comments. It's just that the American accent is usually a neutral accent and thus the easiest to sing in without literally forcing your throat. If anyone just sings in English it will automatically come out as "American" or simply neutral. It does have something to do with from where in the throat they sing for. If they force themselves, they actually can sing in their individual accents. Many singers choose to do this to properly maintain their culture. British rappers who sing as well are a common example
