Or do you want the douchebag that you just want to punch in the face? Future pokemon games need to give us the option. It can also be a way to mask difficulty options, the nice guy being easy mode and the bad guy being hard mode.

Those "starters" were caught in the wild in the first places. It never made sense that you're never ran in any other Squirtle, Charmander, Bulbasaur in the wild. Are you going tell me an entire species went poof, and doesn't exist in the wild. That feels more wrong.

I like the idea that I can still catch a starter in the wild worst most people I know don't play pokemon so it hard to get any apart from the one you own and waiting on trades who want a level 90 pokemon for a level 1 madness.

This game is perfect for MY 8 year old. For me to see her become obsessed with the series at pretty much the same age I was when it came out makes me extremely proud! Plus my other 2 love Pokemon. They can all play together and it just makes me happy. This game was made as an introduction for a whole new generation. If that's what they we're aiming for, I'd say they were successful

Ive played every pokemon game since Red and Blue came out and Im... believe it or not... really looking forward to this! I think its a really fun and cool way to explore a modern Kanto. It was already established this isnt the "next mainline pokemon game" so why not enjoy pokemon for what it was as a kid? An adventure where you find and support your pokemon. Also, seeing pokemon in the overworld has been a dream of mine since the first games and Im ecstatic to finally see it. Not to mention riding an arcanine has always been another huge dream of mine. This is seriously the game I would have loved to play as a kid, and still will love now

Some of these changes are fine or even an improvement, but why on earth is there no safari zone? They could have made the pokemon Go park anywhere, why did it have to replace the safari zone? Everyone loves that place, and why does your rival have to change? For what purpose did that need to happen? Are they afraid children will feel virtually bullied or something by an NPC? No gambling either? Why did these needed to be changed?!

The lack of gambling is due to Europe's "no gambling as a minor" law. As for the rival...that's just the standard for Pokémon now, get used to it. ☺

The Safari zone does not make any sense on let's go games because all Kanto has become a big safari zone. The safari zone catching rules are the only catching rules in the whole let's go games.

I just beat misty on this game and until now it has been fun. It is both a bit relaxing and also a challenge to forget about held items and abilities. The graphics when playing handheld mode are a step up from ultra sun and moon. In comparison with gen 7 I hugely appreciate being able to skip cutscenes. 7/10.

1) You can't, when you throw it a special animation plays of the ball catching the pokemon. 2) Stops wandering pokemon from spawning. Lure attracts more wandering pokemon and increases the chances of rare pokemon.

Looks like Game Freak is dumbing down difficulty more and takes away any conflict. Guess they believe a difficult Pokemon game wont sell. So they have opted to give us a Rival that holds your hand the whole game. Its to bad I think gamers are smarter and want to work harder to get the rewards for playing there games then Game Freak is giving there players credit for.

Also, it may lack certain features but it makes up for it with the new visuals, co-op, Pokemon following you again and being able to ride Pokémon, player customisation, pikachu/eevee customisation etc

its a cuter and more complete version of Pokemon Yellow but also more accessible por newcomers. It feels more like a guided tour into a fantastic world. The old versions felt more challenging even if they were easy. The gamers wont know what it was to reach Brock with a Pikachu, a Caterpie, a ratata and a pidgey not know that his Onix was going to crush your little pokemons lol. Now the guide will ask you to catch a plant type pokemon before you fight Brock... that feels kinda... sad... idk. The game is great nontheless im really enjoying my time revisiting kanto in a more "casual" way.

I get they wanted to make it easier for newcomers but Pokemon was already a ridiculously easy game like rock-paper-scissors except if you grind it enough you can make the scissors strong enough to cut through the Rock and they also arbitrarily increase the difficulty by needing certain requirements to challenge gym leaders plus I kind of like random encounter battles I'll admit sometimes they can be frustrating some of the only challenge you get in this game besides maybe the Elite Four

No, My Name Is Flacko! I agree that people wouldn't be complaining as much if they had kept wild battles but the only real reason to be in one is if you're trying to catch one or grinding. I like that you can just bypass the ones you don't wanna run into now, it makes things a lot more realistic in the world and I kinda hope that'll still be a thing in gen 8 but keep the wild battles if you still wanna earn the Pokemon.

@@Ninjaman50 Catching wild pokemon and grinding are some of the main reasons people play the game in the first place. I don't see the point of trying to change or fix something that isn't broken. I don't mind the changes too much for this game, since it's more of a spin off than anything. But, it's unfortunate that I'll be skipping out on a Pokemon game for the first time. As long as they don't botch gen 8, then I'll be content. But, if this is a permanent mechanic, guarantee you that it will flop once it hits handheld.
