After playing for 12 hours I can confirm that the cars actually do handle pretty well. The Rhames V truck is just a bit clunky, but I think they did that on purpose to make it realistic. Slip-n-slide giant trucks that move like butter are just a ridiculous concept

Unfair review. There is a lot of customizability in the game, diversity in the combat, and accessibility in the upgrading and scavenging. The author of this video was inaccurate about several game mechanics and was pretty harsh considering this is a 30 dollar title

I have about 200 hours on the first game and I'm loving this second installment just as much or even more than I did the first. I don't think 7.5 is fair, but is an OK score. The game is way more complex than the reviewer made it, and the fact that the game handles decision-making so well is a huge plus nowadays. Oh well.

The original was absolutely amazing and one of my all time favourite games, and it was just an indie game! So what it really boils down to for state of decay fans is the fact there are bugs and performance issues with zombie spawns etc, I have no doubt the devs will iron these out within the first few weeks. I'm looking forward to release and will be anticipating it massively. Edit: I'm a PC gamer

You forgot to mention that if you skip the tutorial you get a random generated map. Me and my friend both have different maps. Which is really cool because this way you can't tell each other where the good spots are and mooch off of that. Also, you didn't mention the reward system they added for playing with your friends. Which is very cool. You get different levels of of rewards based on how long you play with your friends. Despite its glitches, this game is headed in the right direction.

Gas for your vehicle isn't really an issue because if you're far from home and run out, just go to your base screen an pull out a fuel rutsack bag. Break it down on your inventory screen and you'll get a can of fuel. You can do this far from home and it's extremely useful because you don't have to bring fuel with you and take up a useful inventory slot carrying it around.

There appears to be so much potential. I hope the creators continue to invest in the game and the genre. Greater, and more "High Stakes moments" would be the key, in my opinion, and here's how: (1) Zombie Hordes, or Herds have to be real threat of possibility. But understandably, that must require a lot of work to balance fluidity and animation, but would be really worth it. (2) Take a page from, or just straight on partner up with Skybound, and Tell Tale, to write awesome dialogue, plot lines, and overall memorable story. These two elements are what make the Walking Dead Tell Tale Games, and Robert Kirkman's Comic so transcendental, and timeless.

This is small but you can transfer rucksack from your trunk to your storage if they are in the parking space. This also works with items but they have to be in the trunk not your inventory

Developers need to stop thinking that putting in multiplayer with a big map will make up for a lack of variety. I know Minecraft made the whole make-your-own-story thing popular, but you can only pull that off if the gameplay has sufficient depth. No Man's Sky, Sea of Thieves and now this. I'm getting worried that this is becoming a trend.

I'm sure this game is gonna have some patches that'll remove bugs in the future, mods we're in the 1st game, so of course we might get personal fixes and better mechanics added on there ourselves later. I'm gonna give SOD1 a 3/5, hopefully 2 can surpass it, I'm really expecting night to be a big difference and a couple of new enemies with detail updates itself from the new engine. So all-n-all same game but hopefully improved Ai and a better search party system for splitting up your people to gather resources. (probably not though.) Disappointed in the Multiplayer's tethering system, but I heard we can still level up our characters and keep weapons, plus we get bonus supplies when coming back to your game from helping others, if the supplies I get back match the amount we get from the co-op world, I'd be fine with multiplayer mode tbh.

Im playing through the remaster of the original right now, and out of everything you mentioned the only thing that is new to this is cars having gas limit and co-op. Microsoft just isn't focusing its resources on the gaming community because I think they view at as more of a niche for them. They have a net worth of over 560 billion dollars while Sony is around 40 billion I believe. It's sad to see but I wish they would just put someone more passionate about the gaming community in charge of their Xbox operations. Even as a PS4 owner it worries me because competition leads to better quality games

BlackLense much easier to make a 4K console than it is to invest resources into AAA studios. It's essentially an okay comp branded as an Xbox console

Actually you can dump anything in your trunk directly into your supplies by parking it in a parking space looking in the trunk and hitting t while highlighting the item you want to drop off. There's even a pop up that explains that.

Come on, IGN! The review sounded clearly like a 5 (maybe a 6 if all bugs would be fixed) and you give it a 7.5 in this state (of decay). That has to be a joke. This is exactly the reason why people complain so much and you're not taken seriously anymore. Why even have a scale from 0 to 10 in 0.5 steps, if all games end up being between 7 and 9. Why even give a score at all if you're missing all consequence for your own system!? There's absolutely no use to compare anything by score with your reviews, because the numbers are completly arbitrary!

Would like if they had kept the following from the original or update to include. 1: ability to fortify or barricade any building . 2: ability to assign group members to outposts for improved defenses. 3: ability to send out group members to get supplies .

Though a bit buggy, definitely an extremely underrated game. Up there with alien isolation, alien wake and prey in terms of being straight up under scored. And I’m sure a lot of bugs will be squished in updates down the line. Most people assume this is a triple A game, and forget the fact that it’s basically a small company indie game, albeit and extremely ambitious one, why it’s only 25 quid price tag.. So with all that in mind the game you end up with is an extremely deep zombie survival simulation, with base building mechanics, intricate personality traits the simulate the different characteristics of your survivors and how each character gets on with each other with n your base, for better or worse. You can trade and build relationships with other survivors or crash them and take there stuff by force. Apart from the beginning prologue at the start, nothing in the game is scripted and is procedurally generated, meaning each players game will be completely different giving a completely organic store unique to you

William Gregg I wouldn’t say that this game is better than the first but most of all, the game is stable. The one bug I’m still getting is the vehicle glitch whereas the car flickers invisibly but other than that, most things are fine. If you never played it, I recommend you take advantage of the 14 Day Trial of Xbox Game Pass so you can play State of Decay 2 on Xbox One and PC for free, only for two weeks of course.

Now, I love the game myself and have been playing it well over 200 hours. However, not even I would rate it 7.5 because it has many issues and a shitload of glitches. Nothing game breaking that I know of, but annoying as hell nonetheless. Here are a few examples: Non-stop running juggernauts, invincible enemies (especially when there are a lot of them), cars that crash or get stuck on invisible or flimsy obstacles like pebbles, fences or scarecrows, characters falling through the ground, quest markers floating outside the game's borders, community members and traders that climb on top of buildings and then jump down continuously, molotovs that bounce off of enemies, missions that are impossible to finish because some zombie spawned inside or below buildings, dialogue in the final cutscene is so off track that it starts during the end credits, etc. This game needs a lot more love and work, because it has great potential. But in its current state it's nowhere near 7.5 IMO.
