Because ign reviews don't reflect player sentiment. They even walked back their review on dragon age after it flopped. Then there was the drama with outlaws about journalists getting access media treatment with gifts for favorable reviews. The hate is not unwarranted and it's mostly lack of trust. There is also a culture war and people are just tired of certain things like politics being injected into games and being praised for including it. People are tired of being gaslit.

The movie is a solid 7/10, thanks in large part to the very good source material is based upon. The irony that IGN didn't give it a seven is not lost on most I suspect 😂 The comments overheard walking out of our preview were a mix of praise and 'I didn't expect to like it but it was alright' which is where I sat on it. I wouldn't pay to see it at the cinemas, but definitely an okay movie to watch on streaming.
