@Yul Brynner you see, that's the difference here. Guns are democratic, they're available to the public at large. Giving power to the masses is just dangerous because they might have differing opinions on how to use that power and be forced to compromise. (totally not mutant) powers are only given to the Elite, the special people who rise above the dirty masses. So clearly they're the ones who should be dictating morality to the majority, because they're just so special. That way we don't have to deal with the evil that is different opinions. power should only reside in the hands of the special few who know how to use it, the rest of us just need to shut up and do as we're told. For freedom and equality, obviously. This is what Twitter has taught me repeatedly over the last 2 years...

Honestly, reads more like he's a sociopath than a psychopath, a psychopath is someone whose biologically incapable of having the mental facilities necessary to prevent them from reasoning themselves into things like murder or rape, its like their brains just cannot connect the right wires to get 2 + 2 equals 4 and that's simplifying it horrifically, whereas a sociopath lacks or at least has severely reduced biological capacity to feel empathy and can even have little emotional control in certain circumstances, both are bad but psychopaths ironically tend to be easier to discern due to their deficiencies manifesting in more physical forms whereas a sociopath, outside of certain triggers, can not only be fairly intelligent and and composed for the most part, but can also seem entirely reasonable outside of a few emotional triggers (lowered empathy but heightened emotions go figure), thats what makes them worse in my opinion, that they relentlessly try to twist words and meanings around to make themselves seem reasonable and guiltless rather than accept another viewpoint. Though honestly it doesn't really matter, marks still an asshole whose ruined his public image over and over again, even if he continues to get work his name will hopefully become a scarlet letter to future readers.

The superhero genre and gun control do not mesh well in storytelling as a whole. People with powers that can destroy civilization, but they are worried about some dude with a gun? Senator Kelly (from Marvel not AZ) registration scheme makes more sense in such a setting, nd even that comes across with ethics question. Some manga (My Hero Academia) at least look at the registration from a + side. Thou US vs Japan culture is important.

Which is hilarious because MLK was remembered for passive resistance and peaceful protesting. Meeting hatred with love. As portrayed in history. What is this crap being remembered for? Meeting opposing, nonviolent ideals meant for protection and security with preemptive violence on not just protesters & demonstrators, but downright anyone with a different opinion. It's monstrous. There's nothing virtuous or heroic about it.

@@TheVagabondGadite Their idea is "whoever wins writes history however they please." Except, there is a massive problem with that mindset; it isn't just this battle that you have to win, but every one after too. You have to assume that everyone else will do the same. In any case, we are going through the fall of an empire, so these people are going to remembered a very specific way, if at all, and it isn't good.

It was such a confusing mess that I honestly believed that the idea of an actual story with a beginning, middle and end (with the emphasis on the "end") was unknown to these creators. I thought they were just making it up as they went along & that it would (nonexistent desert sky-daddy forbid) go on forever. Tbh i wouldve made the scool shooter the one who gives them powers as an extremely bitter origin for their powers. Then you have all of them slowly break apart (this could also be used as a reason for them going insane) because their anchor(the shooter) is dead. The story becomes them being chased down by a relative of the shooter with the same ability whos trying to stop them and save them from themselves. Its not really great but i find it more interesting than what it is.

Thank you for picking through this garbage and crushing into the diamonds these videos are, so we don't have to. Honestly it's tempting to do the same to teen literature which I've hated even when I was a teen and had to pry my friend out of.

While the Ignited series does sound pretty bad from the way *Just Some Guy* talks about it, I could almost see this (or a different yet similar) story being used as a potential springboard for someone else to write a hero/superhero story where the main characters are cleaning up the mess that the [Phoenix Six] left in their wake and trying to make sense of what all happened and more importantly WHY it happened at all.

HOORAY! Now i want to add expies of all these teens in a storyline about superpowered teens forcing their small town to conform to their own childish, morally stunted worldview while fully believe they are the heroes.

Now take all of the Ignited books that you've bought AND MAKE A BONFIRE !!! Make sure to video record the bonfire for all to see. Don't forget to cook some marshmallows over the bonfire - for its the only thing that these "books" are good for. LOL
