You are in the right path man! Only one complaint: don't touch/knock/lean yourself on the c pillar trim. It hurts our feelings xD

The noisy alternator could have been rust within it. I had the same. It sits under the grill in the engine hood, so gets the drips. My MR2 is currently at the body shop stripped down ready for any welding. Critical to our restoration is to keep everything standard, as it left he factory. I have the revs hunting problem, be interested how you overcome that!

Hi mate. My AAV has been by-passed years ago by someone before me but there is a fix on its way. Give me a week or 2 and I will do an episode on it going thru what it should look like and hopefully how to fix it...

Great video. My mk1 has a gauge that indicates "Economy" where yours shows battery voltage. Mine seems to be stuck on yellow, indicating poor economy. Any ideas what that indates? sometimes on a cold start the green will flash for a second, so it is working, but not sure what to fix so that it runs normal... i´d love to fix it!!

Thank you so much very helpful I have 87 none supercharger mk1, I got different problems the rpm is very high when cold starts and go low by below 700rpm when got very hot, can you help me out please.
@Resto.Nation4 жыл бұрын
Hi, how high when cold? The low idle could be TPS adjusting (see the other videos in the series) or could just be a simple case of adjusting the idle screw...
@xueyam10224 жыл бұрын
@@Resto.Nation Thanks for replying, when cold weather 2300 RPM after 10 minutes drop to 1500 RPM after I drove on highway 30 minutes engine got very hot the rpm will drop to 600 to 700rpm , and I did adjust the TPS every weather changes on cold weather I got to adjust the TPS lower on hot weather I need to adjust TPS higher, If I don't adjust the TPS higher on hot weather the rpm will drop to around 200 to 300 RPM some time will drop to 0 RPM will shut down the engine. Thanks again

Regarding the idle, you can try adjusting the TPS if you haven't done it yet. It has idle switch on it that can cause troubles, but from my experience that mostly results in bogging on light throttle acceleration during driving. Also there's idle adjust screw on the throttle body hidden under rubber cap. It's all well explained in the official toyota service manual here: manual.teq.org/ It should also contain some info on the cold start injector and diagnosis, mine still works so I haven't looked up how it works.
@Resto.Nation4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info mate. I’ve got a solution now and have adjusted the idle and the TPS does need work but I will do that as and when the tb is removed...
