Hey just a heads up to anyone watching this, this video shows the dlc being completed one portion of the stranger at a time, rather than how it's meant to unfold naturally. That's why some of the hidden areas and secrets seem quite difficult/strange to find right away. If you follow the normal storyline there are hints as to where to go. Although I do admit this dlc was quite a bit more difficult to work through than the main game :)

I’m too much of a pussy to go in blind but my pride won’t let me turn on reduced frights so my plan was to watch a playthrough of it (About Oliver has the best I’ve seen) and now that I’ve learned the story somewhat organically I can watch this vid for completion purposes

Watched this video instead of finishing it myself, honestly the DLC is really hard as a puzzle game on it's own, the time limit carried on from the main game was just a severe annoyance with all the things you have to do on repeat over and over in the darkness

I found the Reduced Frights option makes these areas doable. They chase you much less aggressively. You don't really even need to turn off your light.

I'd play Giants Deep 100 times before I play this. It's scary af. Surprised so many here didn't like it. It does seem harder than the base game but the gameplay matches the in the dark vibe. Just too scary for me tho lol

I loved the base game cause if you started getting frustrated by one part, you could just go on to another and revisit it later. The DLC felt way more tedious, cause the start of each 'run' was the same so you just had to fly back so many times. I love the devs story telling though, so this walkthrough is great!

The DLC was kind of great but also kind of flawed. I made it to the secret world and then just wandered in the dark for hours, looping and looping and making no progress. Too many hidden things in the dark I just couldn't find. I wish I'd had the stamina to see it through but it got the better of me.

enjoyed the dlc up to the stealth parts. couldnt tolerate being caught by the strangers like 5 times because of 100% darkness. ill just spoil myself i guess, feels like the game just started wasting my time all of the sudden.

The problem with the DLC: it doesn't feel like playing outer wilds anymore. All the space exploration, its magic and wonders are gone. Instead we have this mouse and cat chase in complete darkness, it's frustrating and easy to get bored of.

I loved the Dlc , it matches the story perfectly, and i love the kinda matrix thing. It was hard to do it so, i discovered most things on my own, and used this guide to finish it only, cause didnt realize i have to die in the fire to not be waken up when opening the bove, i saw the info , but didnt realize i had to use all three errors of the matrix to get to the prisoner, thanks for the guide ❤❤❤.

I was too stupid to launch probes into rooms to light up doors from the other side to get them to open. 1:06:15 Also too dumb to send the elevator down, then go down the hole to explore. 1:02:13 The 'river vent' hidden behind a bunch of trees and bushes sucked. Who had time to search every bush? 28:11 (edit) Whoops! Turns out the elevator and river vent are clearly hinted at later, so only the probe non-use stopped me. Anyone else have similar troubles? I feel better reading that maybe this was pretty hard and I'm a low average puzzle solver. I'm hoping that solving puzzle games eventually gets you better at solving puzzle games. Search everything, try everything. If there's a lever, pull the lever. Also try pulling and HOLDING the lever or button. Learned that from Myst.

Yeeah, I don't have much experience with horror games, but RE7 was a breeze in comparison. Couldn't play this. Base game is on entirely different level too, anglerfish weren't scary for me.

To me, the candles gave it away and I just tried. If you want to find it the way it's supposed to though, you have to open the secret gate in the middle of the big tower by extinguinshing all the candles in the secret world and then going back to it in the real world. You then find thje location of new slides that show you how to go to all the secret libraries, including this invisible bridge..

There is a slide tape that explains the path they take to get to the secret chamber, and upon investigation you will realize that after a certain time the room where those from that house are is flooded, extinguishing the flame and thus "disconnecting them." " from the simulation, you can actually hear his screams just as the dam breaks and floods his room

I've had the artefact 10 times and I went from one green fire to another one each time to try and figure out what I'm supposed to do, clicking r1 and l1 wherever I thought something was going to happen because the aliens are shown with the green fire inside of it. But no, it just magically appears when you doze off there. It's absolutely dumb.

Compared to the rest of the game, which was really fun to put together and explore, the DLC is a bit of a letdown with the super duper slow walking eveywhere and impossible to find story
