Great video here. The context is mostly on landed property. If a condo is freehold, it may be trumpeted very loudly. Take a look at condos which are over 20 years to understand how your new property will look like in the future when considering freehold vs leasehold for condo.

Yes that may be a big deal considering the high maintenance fees for newer condos. How would a freehold condo and it's facilities be like after 30, 60 or 90 years?

Hey Sean, if we paid a RM1000 to state just so we could sell off our houses: 1. who do we sell it to? 2. How much profit to share with the state? 3. Would the buyer have to then renew the lease on their own?

1. Anyone. 2. 50% of the profit from the price before renewal of the lease 3. Yupe. It's would be a series of forms to be submitted to the land office:)

@@iherng thanks! I guess people will then choose to let go their leasehold property by the 50 year lease remaining mark to salvage maximum value before the property deteriorate in value... I guess Malaysians are very ingrained on the culture of getting only freehold property. Just out of curiousity, Who would then buy the properties with

Hello I'm bit confuse regarding the premium if we want to convert our title from leasehold to freehold. I'm heard you saying rm100k to 200k or rm100 to rm200 only. Plz clarify. Tq

It depends at the price you buy. If it's 30% below the freehold property then it would be worth it=)

Well there's not one condo that went through that exercise yet. So I'm pretty excited to witness that process of getting all residence to pay for the lease renewal for the land of the condo. Great question Rebecca=)

ya...y u wanna own a land forever...unless u r immortal la...haha....ur child or grandchild will not wan to stay at the old house one la where they grow up...they will leave the bird nest at the age of 18..
