Bros. Its about alcoholism. Watch pilgrimage to oblivion, and this, back to back. Listen to the lyrics, the videos, and think... "Out of place." Even the deer in the beginning , free, in the forest, to the deer at the end, dying, on a manmade road. The main character grasping a branch, it splits to citymade bars on a fence, back to the forest, back to the bars. Hes literally telling you outright what this is. The forest is freedom, but its also being buzzed, drunk, high. Whatever. And losing everything because of it, but being trapped in society and how to deal with it at the same time (he said this was what he wrote during the pandemic). As someone struggling with alcoholism, the two videos resonate as a whole. So who is ihsahn? The main guy is the deer. The witch is alcohol, feeding off of him, the forest is freedom and the buzz, the city, sober and real life. But ihsahn? No idea yet. Just a neighbor? Sobriety? Freedom in present times? I need a part three. Unless of course the deer (aka the main character), dying in the middle of the manmade road, feeling out of place IS the ending, id accept that too. I need a happier ending in my life right now because as everyone knows, Ihsahn is legally contractually obligated to write exclusively about my personal life and struggles.
