IKEA HACK, How I turned Ikea rugs into a stair runner! using €17 SÖLLINGE rugs.

A quick and easy way to create a beautiful, custom-looking runner for your stairs is by using Ikea rugs! I will show you how I used the Ikea SÖLLINGE rugs and hacked them into a stair runner. I got my inspiration from Alexandra Gater's DIY stair runner and the Sorry Girls stair makeover.

My old carpet had become worn and picked by my cat, and the old wool carpet didn't stand the test of time. This Ikea hack saved me some money but is also suitable for my home and the traffic my stairs gets.
This hack will work with any Ikea rug but the one I used was the affordable SÖLLINGE. You can find more information on this product on your local Ikea website.

I became the owner of a female cat that came with buns in the oven; now I have six “chucking fats” that are tearing around the house like they own the place. Our community is over run with an abundance of kittens and puppies so the only other option is euthanasia, and certainly can’t abide by that, SOOOOOO until I find them all forever homes they are having a blast tearing up my house. But when they sleep they are so sweet! Lol!!😽

Hi, greetings from the USA. I just watched your carpet install. You did a good job. I want to let you know you can train your cat. It is harder than dogs you just have to be consistent. I've had many cats and dogs. Do you have cat scratch towers? Get some and put cat nip on it. It will attract your cat to scratch there. Put it away from your stairs and bring her to it several times a day until she gets used to it. Hope this helps. 🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸🐱🐱

My cat hasn't scratched up my beautiful wool Berber carpet, my dogs did that before she arrived. I have scratch posts of all sizes and heights and she uses them but she has annihilated the tops of my raised beds sharpening her claws on the wood. The rugs are a brilliant idea, it works well on your stairs. I have to agree about the Sollange beige rugs on the Ikea site, they do have a pinky tone to them.

We have a carpet mat on each stair and our cat Tommy destroyed the one at the bottom so we had to swap it out 😂😂 Sadly we couldn't get the exact shade cuz it got discontinued so now that ONE stair is a little different 🙂🤦‍♀️
