That is a great and versatile piece. I got two a few months ago, for my screened porch at the back of my house. To make it fit in with the rest of the boho room, I spray painted the doors a dark turquoise and the other pieces a lighter turquoise before assembling it. It looks bri,lliant, like it was purposely built in!

Hi, Catherine. This is so inspiring, really lovely. A tip for when you are drilling into a wall and want to reduce mess: stick an old envelope to the wall below the point where you will be drilling (We usually use masking tape). It catches most of the mess and reduces cleaning-up time.

This looks really good; I love the finished look. Just a word of warning with eggshell paint; some people like me can be affected by the fumes, it makes me cough constantly. So paint in a really well ventilated room or even outside if poss.

Hi Lorna, this is a water based eggshell with a low VOC, Generally oil based paints would cause a smell and reaction. Have you tried using water based paints?

I love the look, I do not have a problem with shoes, but I do have a narrow hallway and the ubiquitous electricity control panel box which cannot be moved. But I wanted pretty, behind my door was a 10-inch space. I had an Ikea tall CD holder unit and it fitted in beautifully I moved in ceramic plant pots not in use at the moment and I constantly change it out. One of the Ikea drawer. dividers fits I use at the bottom to hold extra plugin scented products, and other have my masks , It is so nice to see the space filled and practical and somewhat pretty.

Hi Catherine What a super difference this shoe cabinet has transformed your hallway. I love the the colour and the gold handles. I think I may get this. My Granddaughters come in through the garage into the laundry room, which is small, so it's a good space for them to drop off their shoes before coming in and will keep the shoes from all over the floor in their room. The depth is perfect. I would have liked the taller one with the little drawer on top, but it was too high for near the light switch.
