Kaapi was during Thyagaraja,s time was limited to what was derived from Karaharapriya....later, on it was expanded by musical family adding all those foreign notes..... it was called “ kapi jilla” and therefore, I would like your listeners to Know that the raga was modified by the musical field in due course. Even today, Intha sowkiyamu can be rendered In its pure form. By and large film music shows this kind of foreign notes which has been trend fir a long time.

Karunaadakam means old in pure Tamil. It is called karunaadaka Sangeetham. In English, these people changed to Karnatic and Carnatic which they are thinking it came from Karnataka. Karunaadaka Sangeetham means old music. Please don't spread wrong information.

Hello Sir, I read your post in another YT video - despite being busy with your medical profession, you have done so much research into Raaja's work - your list of IR's songs on a given raagam is so extensive. Do you maintain a web site where we can check which songs belong to which raagam? I used to refer to thiraipaadal.com which was quite good, which disappeared one fine day! Similarly Tamil Film Music page was quite good, giving notations for movie songs so newbies like me can sing those songs TFM site also disappeared now - these shouldn't have any copy right issue, am not sure. Pls share your site if possible. thanks.
