People really need to stop offering their only commentary as "so and so is better in my opinion." You are free to that opinion, but singers of this caliber deserve a lot more respect than simply saying someone else is better. Ildar is wonderful on this, Ramey is wonderful on this, Hvorostovsky is wonderful on this -- saying which one is better than the other is not necessary. Find something you like about the performance, or offer a critical analysis, not just "they aren't as good as Ramey" or whatever.

Peter Barber Lei è lontano, ma molto lontano della realtà e la verità, purtroppo. Tutti cantanti citati da Lei da anni cantano aiutati dai microfoni 🎙, tutti . Degli anni 1956-1976 microfoni 🎤 sul palco non esistevano ancora . In questi anni esisteva ancora la vera arte lirica. Dal 1978 in poi pian piano i teatri in mondo intero pian piano hanno incominciato di ‘aiutate’ con microfoni dei cantanti come Gedda, Pavarotti, Ramey, Hvorostovskiy,Abdarzakov etc. etc…. Viva il pop moderno! Saluti cordiali il vecchio

This is not really very good. His high notes , he is not producing them forward, as another comment said , it is to much in his throat. Not over the note at all.
