My wedding day: woke up (hung over), went to waffle house, saw another relationship disintegrate and someone get arrested in a parking lot as we left, got my make up done by a mall BareMinerals artist, mother-in-law wore white to my wedding. Great wedding. Been married 7 years this year.

Ive been to a few weddings and i can say the key is ample dosage of hard liquor for the couple and their immediate family until at least all the obligatory ceremonies are done (signing the register at the town hall, church, photoshoot, predinner toasts and speeches. Once wine and beer starts flowing freely, noone really cares). So if im ever a best man, imma strategically hide stashes of clear and honeyd pálinka(a rather potent Hungarian fruit brandy) and some homemade sweet liqueur for the soon to be in-laws (walnut liqueur and cherry brandy are generally a good choice for older ladies). Y'all wanna keep everyone on the "slightly tipsy" level where they are relaxed but still functional.

My husband and I wed on a pier with 6 other people we loved. The whole thing, clothes, food and certificates included, cost us just over 500$. We had a picnic on the beach afterward, my dress was beautiful, we were all comfortable and happy. Plus my aisle was the entire pier! Although we hadn't planned it, everyone else on the peir that day joined us as they figured out what was going on and began to followed behind to watch. Been happily married 12 years now! Expensive weddings are not only unpractical, they are often so elaborate that the bride and groom don't really get to enjoy the expensive day. If people would only put the effort (or money in the form of counseling) into their marriage that they put into the nuptials then perhaps the divorce rate would be lower. Having a healthy marriage has nothing to do with having an expensive and perfect wedding.

See... and everything you said is possibly the reason for you still being married and her most likely never making it over the 7 year mark.
@alexashton65014 жыл бұрын
Lavish weddings (aka the big white wedding) are based largely off imperial and royal weddings of days past (even white for the wedding dress is from Queen Victoria I believe, because white was expensive due to it being impossible to keep clean and white back then). They're a display of wealth, status and power from an era when a marriage meant an alliance, but that idea gets latched onto. Weddings should be personal, they should be a reflection of the couple. I'm glad you had a wedding you were happy with and remember for years :)

This sounds awesome Jennifer! I agree premarital counseling is so important because you’re not just signing up to be a bride and have a party, you’re signing up to be a wife & partner to an imperfect person as an imperfect person. I love how the people around the pier joined in! That sounds like a beautiful wedding then. To have not just friends and family but interested onlookers join in. I also like that you kept it small in terms of number of guests. I feel like when you’re at a big wedding the bride is mostly just experiencing the day with your new husband. Weird phenomenon to have all these people but it’s still I imagine a bit lonely… and I get it: you just do not have the time to talk to that people and so you might want to receive the guests but that line is not a time for a heart to heart with the bride. She’s probably trying to figure out when she’s gonna go to bathroom in her ballgown while flashing her gums at her relative from Ohio that she sees about once every 5 years. So she’ll probably just want to make sure you know she’s happy you’re there… but she’s not really experiencing the day with you unless you’re well, in the wedding. Curious: how much did your dress cost and can you describe what it looked like for us?

The reason why I think she is so funny is because females understand her humour, in terms of the way she acts out physically, vocally and imaginatively what is happening and going on in the minds of females that males find more difficulty in understanding, because to put it plainly , are not females. And so females, find it so true, that it’s really just funny because of how ridiculous it is, yet they continue to do it, and they know it’s a silly thing to do at times but it’s what makes them beautiful creatures and deep down females know that. She has this funny way at poking fun at what they do, and most of the comments saying she isn’t a good stand up or she is SEXIST is from males, a tiny majority from females. This is exactly what it is, it can’t be sexist because she isn’t prejudice towards her sex (or any sex) She’s just making fun of it, poking a hole in how societies standards is and how females (down to the core of human nature differing from males) know this to be SO true, heck most of the laughs in all her shows are females. She explains it to the people it matters to the most - Females, in such a way where Its seen neither a good thing or bad . But see the ridiculousness of it all, and it’s funny. Females understand how ridiculous SOCIETY is in all her jokes surprisingly. Thats true art (Comedy is an art) I find it funny also how the majority of people getting annoyed by her comedy were by males, even though Iliza is poking fun at women in society. Bit wrong when you think about it, a bit funny when you think about it, isn’t life beautiful, isn’t it funny. “We are funny creatures, Who do funny things, Who handle things in funny ways, And we don’t know who we get the jokes from” - Britain Swarbrick (2020) I’m high asf.

@CBR Fireblade Whoa-ho! ☝🏻🧙🏻♂️ Check out this bright young whyipper snyapper... Really brought it to the table! 👏 With deep, and unchallengeable conclusive wit... 🤯 Look out world! 🥁 Here comes.... *Initials-FIREBLADE!!!* 🏋️⛹️🤼🤸🏍️🏎️👬 He can do it all folks! Not only could this come from a synaptic thought, downloaded from a 40yr old southern European comatose vegetable. With Bics, ticks, fleas & tits,THIS, is a walking, wheezing and barely breathing, unconsciously conscious being. Initials-FIREBLADE; What further insight can you expand on regarding the "c.unt" agreement accord, you are advocating for this winter season? CAN YOU TELL US MORE? 🤵🎤😞 ....Well alright folks, Fireblade looks to be a little disappointed right now, curdled with a sense of despair & discouraging defeat, but we hope to bring you more as this story develops. Back to you Iliza 🎤🤵🏻
