Dwight Yoakam is a Pikeville, Kentucky native as well as the beautiful Patty Loveless! They were born a few months apart! Eastern Kentucky mountain area is well known for great country and bluegrass musicians.

When I was a kid, I never listened to music. I was rifling through my older brother's junk drawer one day and found this album on cassette and played it for some reason. This song came on and I immediately became a Dwight Yoakam fan. 30 years later and I'm still a huge fan.

He was the guy that first got me started listening to country music. In fact the CD this song was on, "This Time" was the first country album i purchased. And fittingly i was in the process of breaking up with a guy i had been dating for 3 years who always put me on the back burner until I would start to walk away.... I finally found a new group of friends and walked away from him for good.

You may have seen Dwight Yoakam in a few movies. He plays an a$$hole in the movie *"Sling Blade".* He was Doc Miles in both of the *"Crank"* movies. He was in *"Four Christmases."* He was in the short lived TV show *"Under the Dome."* He's been in a lot of other movies that I can't remember right now.

Cudos for reacting to Dwight Yoakum. He's officially country but he does incorporate Blues and Rock in some of his music as well.
