That handcuff scene always makes my jaw drop. A lot of interesting facts in this episode.

I hope you continue to do videos that allow for the presenters to discuss the film before the trailer starts, like this one. It's great to get all that additional info.

She was outstanding in Cape Fear. Though her role was short. She made it one of the most memorable and horrific scenes in the movie. Amazing actress!

This is a truly unnerving movie and DeNiro was untouchable.

His best scene was with Juliette Lewis. He's a cartoon character in the rest of the movie.

Anthony Sablan is right. Illeana Douglas is awesome. She does a wonderful job here on explaining the background of Cape Fear and its characters. Thank you for insight. I've worked in 57 TV/Film shows/productions and never a Thriller and it scared the hell out of me and I grew up in East L.A. around sociopaths. We were poor and lots of young guys got in trouble a lot and did crazy shi*. Ever many of the girls. I was so happy to LEAVE THERE IN 1971. Went in the US Army and my entire life changed for the better. Off to Germany, France and Italy. Wonderful Army stint. 4 wonderful years. I even stayed in Europe after my Honorable Discharge. Intern'l Bus. MBA and more. You can change and be a better person. This sociopath (character) in this movie played by Robert Deniro who does an amazing job. Maybe too well? lol I bet it gave a lot of people Nightmares. Thanks Illeana.

The scene where DeNiro bites a chunk out of Illeana's cheek . . . man, that was shocking as fuck! Hard to believe Spielberg was involved in a film that included such a horrific and shocking act of violence, given that he used CGI to erase the guns from "E.T." On an unrelated note, as an afficionado of Dante's INFERNO, I remember thinking that the scene where DeNiro is trapped in water up to his nose, in the climactic finale, that the image was reminiscent of the Traitors in the 9th Circle of Hell, who are frozen in the lake of Cocytus, the Count Ugolino story. With all the other religious elements in the film -- Max Cady referencing the book of Job, and his speaking-in-tongues at the end -- it seemed to me that Scorcese was perhaps tapping into such an 'infernal' image.

Yes, this is Scorsese's first foray into genre film making. This was good but I think his other suspense thriller--Shutter Island--is much better & will someday be regarded as one of Scorsese's masterpieces. IMO.

No contest, the 1962 film is superior. The 1991 remake is Martin Scorsese directing like Brian De Palma on a bad day.

If it weren't for Juliette Lewis, and marginally DeNiro, I would agree with you. It's a cheesy film with some good acting.
