@GrizonII5 жыл бұрын
xolotltolox If you’re referring to the digital color versions, they are official but they aren’t done by Araki. There have been various instances throughout all of JJBA where he does color pages though (which unfortunately aren’t included in most volume releases of the series, although the recent hardcovers have them and IIRC most of them are included in the digital color releases for Parts 7 and 8 [although weirdly the earlier parts mostly didn’t include them and instead recolored the scene to match the main palette they chose]) and each time he does that he tends to choose different palettes for the characters (compare for instance the first few pages of SBR Chapter 28 and 95, both of which were colored by Araki, the characters have completely different palettes in each). I don’t mean that each panel necessarily has its own palette or something like that, rather that each page or sequence of pages generally has a separately decided palette, in case that was unclear. I should note actually that Araki has done a few works in full color, specifically “Rohan at the Louvre” and his collaborations with Gucci.

I am glad that you covered Moebius. My older friend was a huge fan of his work in Heavy Metal magazine. At the time (mid 80s) I didn't really appreciate it. Since then, I have come to REALLY appreciate his work and have seen how he has influenced other artists with his style. I think you did a really good job of pointing out how some of his techniques are subtle, yet have a subconscious impact when looking at the panels. He did this in multiple ways. One of the first comic related posters that I bought to hang on my wall as a teen was Moebius's Iron Man. I never even read Iron Man and was a DC fan but I just really liked the illustrative style and use of the limited color pallet that also influenced me as an art student.
