I’ve unfortunately had terrible luck with the mic-monitors. The tweeters only worked after a month of use on my first pair. IK multimedia was gracious enough to replace them with a second pair (just got them after a 2 month wait) and this pair does not “power” up. So I think I’m done with this company. Sounds like others have more positive results. Sucks because they do sound great (when they work).

While these are really nice and sound good too, they are no replacement for large monitors. As good as technology is, you can't ignore the laws of physics. Larges speaker drivers have a wider frequency response, especially on the low end. They're also less prone to distortion as well. Small drivers will usually distort when they have to reproduce low frequencies. I'm pretty sure the calibration does some sort of compensation for that.
