i feel like the jelly is just making the lay up more complicated in some cases, i feel that if you get the angle correct and do a lot of mikan drill around the rim u should finish okay. i rmb when i first played basketball when jelly wasnt really a thing, a lot of people including me fail at underhand lay up a lot because we either put it up in the wrong angle/too much force or giving spin to the ball...i see a lot of great players just have a hard open hand type underhand lay up and they never give spin to it

I agree Tony Parker and Steve Nash are some of the best finishers at the guard position. They kept it simple with basic quick finishes. As long as you have finesse your good.

It's good for finishing when you have a bigger defender who is confident in blocking you or when your layup is contested heavily. Otherwise a normal layup is fine. The jelly is just a solution to a problem.
