Miss my lovely Kelpie Mel, rescue dog from Birmingham dogs home. She hated rain, snow, other dogs and cats and anyone knocking the front door lol. Loved car rides, walkies and sleeping, was brave girl in car, barking at other dogs, but once car stop, down under my seat lol Black and tan beauty, miss her always.

I have one, I thought it was just a good-looking mutt when I got her at 6mons when she was too much for her starting family. Super smart, super kind, super brave, and a cute sense of humor. I would get another but they impossible to find in Michigan where I live.

The Kelpie that resides at my place is the most chilled affectionate little man, i was his 3rd owner when he was 2yro, he was very stressed when i got him but lots of patience and TLC has brought out his natural layed back temperament, he is so social with other dogs but varies with people. These dogs are very tough but aren't destructive if taught properly, just a firm voice and explanation will do, they are very intelligent and understand a lot of words. They can be stubborn if you show weakness thus they look to you for direction. Ours is not fond of hot weather he came from a elevated cool area. Mind you i have heard of some that don't make the grade because they are deemed to be un-trainable for stock. Sadly you can guess what happens to these guys.

Such a great dog, our Maggie, keeps you on your toes and makes sure we stick to her routine😅Loves being taken places, exploring and playing tug of war and chase her for the stick. Think dogs don't have a sense of humour? Guess again!

How do you make a kelpie happy after rounding up 5000 sheep ? Let them do it again.Have had 2 & they are the most loving ,loyal energetic dogs you can have. Did i memtion SMART? At 13 my girl dog could still jump a 6 ' fence easy from a sitting position. Lost her because she would follow me to work & was hit by a car .Heartbroken .Sensational dog in every way.

Fantastic clip! Kelpies are amazingly intelligent. Thanks for the warnings about their capabilities and the need for them to use them in order to be happy. Do people think their innate intelligence and hardiness and endurance comes partly from the Dingo genes?

Our current Kelpie Matilda, or "cyclone Tilly" as I call her, is fearless, territorially protective, stubborn, knows everything, is hilarious and and is a loyal, and obedient dog ( when she chooses to be ) Kelpie are hard work, and require daily mind and physical work, but the return is a dog that bests all others( in my opinion)

Yeah if you decide to get a Kelpie be ready for a dog that will look at you waiting for something to do for 3/4 of the day ! For an outdoor activities keen , dog savy teen wanting a " growing " buddy the Kelpie fills a top 3 spot ! Live in a warm + climate and it tops out !😎👍

No! They were bred for sheep, they are not physically robust enough for cattle. If you want a cattle dog, get a Queensland Heeler, doesn't matter blue or red, they are loyal, tough as nails, quite protective, do not need as much work as Kelpies, pretty smart, and stubborn. Kelpies will out work any other breed, but were not bred for snow and extreme cold, Heelers can handle any climate, not as athletic or smart as a Kelpie, but much better for cattle, they can take a kick, come back and give the cow a real good :heel", teach the bastard a lesson!

should be fine. many kelpies work cattle as well as sheep. my kelpie is better on cattle then my friend's 2 blue heelers who are useless but nice dogs

I had my first dog being a kelpie, this year was his 1 year old birthday.. Then recently he developed kidney failure and few days ago we had to put him down… I’ve never felt so much pain in my life, kelpies are the best, he learnt so fast. I want to kill myself.

Hello, good video and information. I plan to get a kelpie as a co-worker, to work with cattle. I also write because I really liked the background song, would you be so kind as to tell me band and song? Thanks!
@trissues31283 жыл бұрын
Did you find one? One found me out on a ranch-style country property in Idaho that I was housesitting. She is mostly black&liver colored with a tiny bit of Blue Heeler and a stumpy tail. Idk what to do with her as I live in the city and I can't find her owner. Got to be less than a year old and so very hardworking, super intelligent, extremely loyal and has a great sense of humor. When she found me (lol) she was shy at first but refused to leave, even though she is wearing a collar. Haven't been able to find her owner and she shows signs of having been abused... poor thing. She's helped me hunt the vermin/rock chucks (yellow bellied marmots) that have unforgivingly taken over the entire vacant country property. I'm not sure what I could do to find her a new home! I live over a hundred miles away from where she is in a very urban area so I cannot adopt her myself. Actually I'm more of a bird person but this particular dog is such a treasure.... Any ideas? 😟💭💝 🐑🐄🦴🐕

If you open the description and scroll to the bottom, the song should be mentioned in blue text, as well as the band that made it, and the album it is in.

Do NOT use a Kelpie for cattle, use a Queensland Heeler. Kelpies were bred for sheep, they are light of frame, and gentle of mouth. Not suited, Heelers were bred for cattle, they are tough, harder of mouth. Not as athletic as the Kelpie, or have the Kelpies endurance, but best for cattle

@@markhill9275 Hello, it's too late, his name is Kazán. He is 8 months old and shows signs of being aggressive, learning to work with some sheep. Those sheep were lent to me by a neighbor, I only have cattle, aggressiveness is good to control the big animal. Zazán's task will only be to confine the cattle in a 400-hectare field. The dog will not remain in the work area, for example, when cattle are being vaccinated. I'm not going to put him at risk. Especially because it took me a long time to acquire a copy of parents imported from Australia, I live in Uruguay (South America). Thank you for your recommendation. Maybe in the future I'll get a Cattle dog. Greetings
