Lyle Lovett, like Ray Charles, like Sting, like Wynton Marsalis has mastered all musical genres….you can’t box him in to one type of music…..a true musical genius….

I watch this concert alone. I think I've worn out some of the generosity of others. Like George Thorogoods alone drinking alone Lyle watching implies a certain level of addiction. In this case it's good as Lovett is uplifting and not debilitating. What I'm trying to say is this video is a treasure. It will make you forget about all those checks you just wrote just to keep the same 'ol, same 'ol going for another month. It will make you stop and simply listen and connect to something which in this case is some of the best blending of big band, country, rock, folk, and spiritual genres. I think it bears saying again...this video, this concert, is a treasure.

Fantastic show. I have all of Lyle's records and seeing it after all these years live performed is.. And the quality is... But what we really see is that, before any woke-ism or political correctness existed, this Texan bloke from rich lineage pulled in some serious black and feminist culture. The song Wild Women alone, is, well, you know.. ''I hear these women ravin' 'bout their monkey men About their triflin' husbands and their no-good friends These poor women sit around all day and moan Wondering why their wandering papas don't come home But wild women don't worry, wild women don't have no blues'' No French in that verse.
