Kabul is not a Pathan city, it is a Farsi speaking Tajik city. Pashto is spoken in the southern Afghanistan and tribal areas of Pakistan by Pashtuns. Marzbaan is a Farsi word meaning border guard. Not only Noman aka Abu Hanifa was from Tajik ancestors but also Muhammad ibn Isma'il al-Bukhari, Imam Muslim, Isa Muhammad Tirmidhī were all from the same Persian/Tajik background.

@@TingTong2568 Ignorance is a bliss...The eastern Iranians who had become Muslims, were referred to as Tajiks. It was done to differentiate them from Turks and Arabs. Imam Abu Hnaifa died in 767 AD... in 819AD the Tajik Samanid dynasty was established in Balkh/Bukhara , and in 821 AD another Tajik dynasty by the name of Tahirid's of Herat was established in the greater Khurasan. Both of these dynasties were promoting Farsi/Persian culture, identity, and replaced Arabic with Farsi as the language of their dynasties. Tribal Pashtuns were part of the Indian subcontinent, in the vicinity of what is Suleiman mountains in modern Pakistan. In the 18th century these tribes started moving north and westward.

No doubt. 200 years of resisting colonialism does that to you, especially after the much earlier overcorrection to the negative propaganda against the Hanafis stemming from Abu Hanifas stances on things like alcohol. Now they are more or less a lightly diluted version of the wahabis, like really strong tea with a dash of milk...
